Persons / Product
The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
The power unit has been constructed according to protection class II and may only be operated on a public
power supply outlet.
Never pour out liquids above electrical devices and never leave objects filled with liquids (e.g. vases) on
them or in their vicinity. There is a very high risk of fire or of a fatal electric shock. If fluid does get into the
device, immediately disconnect the power plug from the mains socket and consult an expert.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or sprayed water, strong vibration or heavy
mechanical loads.
The power unit may never be plugged in or out with wet hands.
Never replace a damaged connecting cable of the power unit. If the connecting cable is damaged, the
power unit is unusable and must be disposed of. A repair is not permitted.
Do not place open sources of fire such as burning candles on or near the device or the power unit.
Never operate the device without supervision.
Do not use the device in a tropical climate.
Check the device and the power unit from time to time for damage.
Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly since this may become a dangerous toy for
children.
On commercial premises, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Liability Insurance
Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
Miscellaneous
Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an expert or at a qualified shop.
If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical

5.
Set-up
When setting up the device, make sure that it is on a stable footing and that you find a
correspondingly stable set-up surface.
Set up the device on a level surface close to a wall socket.
Never cover the device or the power unit when it is switched on. Do not obstruct the air
circulation with objects such as magazines, table cloths or curtains.
6.
Connection
For all connection work, the microphone pre-amplifier must be disconnected from the
power supply (pull the power unit out of the socket!).
Always use suitable shielded XLR or cinch cables for connecting inputs and outputs. Use
of other, unsuitable cables may lead to malfunctioning.
To avoid distortions or false adjustments that may damage the device, only devices with
the same connections may be connected to the XLR or cinch connections.
1.
Connect your microphone or electric guitar to the INPUT.
2.
Connect the mixing desk input to the OUTPUT.
3.
A second OUTPUT can be used to connect headphones or another device (e.g. a guitar amplifier on
stage).
4.
Connect the low-voltage plug of the supplied power unit to the AC 9 V connection.
5.
Do not lay the cables in such a manner that they could be tripped over.
Version 03/11
6.
Plug the power unit into a wall socket.
7.
The operating display POWER lights up as soon as the device is supplied with voltage.
8.
In order to switch the device back off, simply pull the power unit from the wall socket.
7.
Operation
Always deactivate the phantom power supply when no condenser microphone is
connected to the input (PHANTOM POWER switch may not be pressed).
Plug the power unit into a wall socket after a connection has been made.
Press the PHANTOM POWER switch when using a condenser microphone.
Adapt the input sensitivity to your signal source using the GAIN switch and the GAIN INPUT control.
Observe the OUTPUT LEVEL display. The PEAK LED should only light up briefly when signal peaks are
reached.
With the LIMIT switch, you can activate the installed limiter.
The PHASE switch can be used to rotate the phase position of the output signal by 180°.
The DRIVE control is used to regulate the degree of distortion (when electric guitars are used).
8.
Maintenance and care
Always pull the power unit out of the mains socket before cleaning the device.
Be sure to prevent penetration of wetness or dampness into the device.
This microphone pre-amplifier is maintenance-free.
The outside of the device should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth only.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as the surface of the housing could be
damaged.
