Installation/Set-up
D o not place or install the device where it will be exposed to shaking, vibration, dust,
heat, cold and moisture.
N ever cover the unit. When installing the mixer as part of a desk set-up with other
equipment, make sure that there is sufficient ventilation. Keep a sufficient distance
(minimum 0.1 m) from other devices and adjacent surfaces. Do not place the device
in the immediate vicinity of heat sources such as amplifiers. Do not point any strong
beams or light sources onto the device. This may lead to overheating (risk of fire).
D o not drill or screw additional screws in the housing in order to fasten the device.
Contact with dangerously high voltages could become possible.
W hen installing, make sure that the device is firmly in place and on a stable base. If
the device falls down, there is the danger of persons being injured.
M ake sure that the connection cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
A lways lay the cables so that nobody can trip over or become entangled in them.
There is a risk of injury.
Never place the device on valuable or delicate furniture surfaces without providing
sufficient protection.
There should be no devices with strong electrical fields such as mobile telephones,
radio sets, electric motors, etc. in the vicinity of the DMX512 Wireless Controller.
The system can also be affected by interference ("radiation") from tuners, TV sets, etc.
Make sure the system is as far as possible from such devices.
Metals, steel concrete walls and proximity to strong electrical or electromagnetic
fields, such as those produced by electric motors, radio systems, etc. also have the
effect of reducing the range.
You can place the unit on a stable, flat surface or tighten it with the nuts on the housing.
Getting started
Connecting the antenna and DMX cables
Y ou can operate up to a maximum of 32 devices in a DMX chain; otherwise the control-
ler will overload.
The maximum overall length of the DMX chain should not exceed 500m.
T he use of XLR microphone cables can cause disturbances to the DMX signal trans-
mission. In such case, please use special DMX high frequency cables.
• Screw the supplied antenna onto the antenna connectors (4) for the transmitter and receiver
and set it up and out.
• Connect the port DMX IN (2) with the output of the DMX controller.
• If necessary, you can connect the DMX OUT port (1) to the transmitter with other DMX devices.
The signal in the DMX IN connector (2) should reach the DMX OUT port (1) unchanged.
• Connect the DMX OUT port (1) of the receiver to the DMX input of your DMX lighting device (or
to the input of the first DMX fixture of your DMX chain).
Mains connection
T he mains outlets which the PA system is connected to must be easily accessible to
quickly disconnect the device from the mains voltage in case of an error.
W hen connecting up the power unit make sure first that the voltage data on the type
plate of the power pack is compatible with the mains voltage available. Do not con-
nect the device if the data doesn't agree with the available mains voltage. The wrong
supply voltage may lead to irreparable damages to the device and involve risks for the
user.
Do not let the mains cable come into contact with other cables.
B e careful when handling the mains cables and mains connectors. Mains voltage can
cause serious electric shocks, which can be fatal.
D o not leave the cables trailing free; route them in an orderly and professional manner
to prevent accidents.
• Insert the non-heating appliance plug of the mains cable into the mains socket POWER (3) on the
device.
• Plug the power plug of the power supply cable into an earthed wall socket.
• The device starts to operate as soon as it is connected to the power supply.
Setting up the radio connection
The wireless DMX512 controller has seven radio channels in the 2.4 GHz band. The transmitter
and receiver must be set to the same channel.
• On the transmitter and receiver, press the ID SET button (6) until both devices show the same
colour on the ID DISPLAY (5).
• When the transmitter detects a DMX signal at the port DMX IN (2), the colour on ID DISPLAY (5)
is red.
• When the transmitter detects a DMX signal from the transmitter, the colour on ID DISPLAY (5) is
green.
• When the ID DISPLAY (5) blinks as described above, the radio connection can be used as a
cable connection.

Troubleshooting

There is no function even though the power supply unit has been connected, in the following
situations:
• The mains plug has not been plugged into the socket correctly
• The mains plug has not been plugged into the POWER (3) socket of the device
• The mains socket is not supplied with current.
The ID DISPLAY (5) will not blink as described if:
• The transmitter and receiver are not set to the same channel.
• There is a barrier for radio signal in the proximity of the transmitter and/or receiver (metals, steel
concrete walls etc.) or a device that reduces the range (radio telephone, WLAN router, etc.).
• Connecting transmitter and receiver
• The range of the system has been exceeded.
The ID DISPLAY (5) will not blink as described if:
• The connection between transmitter and receiver is incorrect Check the correct connection.
• The DMX cables used are faulty or unsuitable.
• The start addresses of the DMX lighting that is connected, are not set correctly.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance. You should never take it apart.
Cleaning
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning.
Do not use aggressive detergents as these can cause discolouration of the case.
Fuse replacement
If you have to replace fuses, ensure that you only use fuses of the same type and rated current
(see "Technical data").
It is is not permitted to repair fuses or bridge the fuse holder.
• Pull the mains plug out of the outlet and separate the non-heating appliance plug from the POW-
ER (3) connection on the device.
• Use a suitable screwdriver to carefully lever out the fuse carrier on the mains connector.
• Remove the faulty fuse and replace it with a fuse of the same type.
• Carefully push the fuse holder with the new fuse back into its holder in the mains connection.
• Only then may you reconnect the device to the mains and place it back into operation.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in the
household waste!
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current sta-
tutory requirements!
