Solar camping light "Sunpad"

Intended use
The product is intended to provide lighting independent of mains supply, e.g. while
camping.
The built-in solar cell charges the rechargeable batteries when there is sufficient light.
You can also charge it with a car adapter (for the cigarette lighter socket of a vehicle),
which is included.
You can turn on the solar camping light when you need it with the push of a button;
the rechargeable battery takes over the energy supply. Built-in white LEDs serve as
the light source.
The solar camping light also has a built-in warning light; for this function, 6 red LEDs
flash. You can also charge your cell phone via a USB charging port.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times!
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and
involves the risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may
be modified or converted!

Safety Instructions
T he warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to ob-
serve these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any re-
sulting damage!
W e shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury
caused by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instruc-
tions. In such cases, the warranty will be null and void.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the unit is not permit-
ted for safety and approval reasons (CE).
• This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibra-
tions or heavy mechanical stress.
• The product must not become damp or wet.
• Do not use this product in rooms that are under adverse environmen-
tal conditions where combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be
present! There is a risk of explosion!
• Caution, LED light: Do not look directly into the LED light! Do not look into
the beam directly or with optical instruments!
• There are two strong magnets built into the stand. Keep clocks, sensitive
electronics and e.g., credit cards with magnetic strips away from these
magnets!
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could
become a dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or
accidental falls, even from a low height.
Notes on rechargeable batteries
• Keep rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave batteries
lying around in the open. There is a danger that children or pets may swallow them,
danger to life! If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Make sure that rechargeable batteries are not opened, short-circuited or thrown
into a fire, as there is a risk of explosion.
• When inserting/exchanging the batteries, pay attention to the correct polarity (ob-
serve plus/+ and minus/-).
• Old or flat rechargeable batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the
device. A leaking or damaged battery may burn the skin if touched. Under these
circumstances, protect your hands with suitable gloves.
Liquids leaking from rechargeable batteries are very chemically aggressive. Ob-
jects or surfaces coming into contact with these liquids might be considerably dam-
aged. Thus, store batteries/rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
• Use only rechargeable batteries of the correct size and the recommended type for
the solar camping light (see chapter "Technical data").
Do not insert non-rechargeable batteries in the solar camping light; there is a risk of
fire and explosion!

Getting started
• If the solar cell or the front of the solar camping light is covered with a transport
protection film, remove it.
• Check whether the rechargeable batteries are correctly inserted. The battery com-
partment is on the back; the correct polarity is given in the compartment (positive/+
and negative/-).
The manufacturer may also have placed a protective plastic strip between the bat-
tery contacts and the rechargeable batteries; if this is present, remove it.
If the batteries were delivered separately from the solar camping light, open the
battery compartment on the back. Then insert both rechargeable batteries with the
correct polarity and close the battery compartment again.
Charging the rechargeable batteries
Before the first use, the rechargeable batteries of the solar camping light need to be
charged. In order to allow the batteries to be charged sufficiently, the solar camping
light must be placed such that the solar cell is exposed to sunlight as directly as pos-
sible. Make sure that the solar cell is not covered or shaded.
The maximum charging current is generated when the sunlight enters the solar cell
vertically.
Please note: Because of its design, the solar camping light must not get
damp or wet!
Keep the cover over the solar cell clean. Dust and dirt reduce the performance of the
solar cell, thus reducing the charging current to the rechargeable batteries.
Alternatively, you can also charge the batteries of the solar camping light
with the provided car adapter. Plug the car adapter into a cigarette lighter
socket of your vehicle and connect the round low-voltage plug with the cor-
responding round socket (1) on the solar camping light.
