• Donotincreaseyourtensiononthecableonceyouhavefelt
thecablecometoastopwithintheTransducer.
• HandletheTransducerwithcareandregularlycheckthepro-
ductfordamages(e.g.cracksorbreakage)atthepull-cable
orhousing.ShouldtheTransducerbedamagedornotfunction
properly,pleasecontactyourOttobockServicefacility.
• Drivingavehicleoroperatingmachineryisstrictlyprohibited
whilewearingaprovisionalsocketfittedwithaTransducer.
• Sinceallmovingpartsaresubjecttosomewearandtear,yearly
servicecheck-upsarerequired.
• MakesurethatneitherdirtnorfluidspenetratetheTransducer.
• DonotexposetheTransducertointensivesmokeordustorto
mechanicvibrationsorshocksorhightemperatures.
4 Range of Application
4.1 9X50 Linear Transducer
The9X50LinearTransducerisdesignedformountingbetweenpermanent
socketandshoulderharnessandcanbemountedafterthepermanentpros-
thesishasbeenfitted.TheTransducerissuitableforamputeesfittedwith
apermanentsocketwhocannotproducestrongenoughmusclesignalsto
controlmyoelectricprostheses.
The9X50LinearTransducercanbeusedtocontrolproportional1-chan-
neland2-channelelectrodecontrolsofprostheticcomponentssuchas
 O ttobockSystemElectricHand,SystemElectricGreiferortheOttobock
Electrohand 2000(ElectronicControl9E369and9E370).Acombinationof
LinearTransducerandMyoBockElectrodesisalsopossible.
ByinstallingtheLinearTransducerbetweentheprovisionalsocketand
theshoulderharnessthepatientcanbeginlearninghowtocontrolmotion
sequencesduringthefirststagesofrehabilitationandthuschangemore
smoothlytothepermanentprosthesis
forbothrightandleft-sidedamputeesaswellasdouble-sidedamputees.
4.2 9X51 4-Step Transducer
Alongwithaproperlyconfiguredprosthesis,the4-StepTransducerallows
apatienttoswitchbetweendifferentcomponents.
