2. PURPOSE

The basic purpose of the grease trap is to retain

3. OPERATION PRINCIPLE

At grease traps the gravity water fl ow is used which
enables separation of fats lighter than water. Fats
assemble on the surface of wastewater at the up-
per part of the separating chamber. Process waste-
water that is rich in fat should not be discharged
directly to the sewer system as it may cause prob-
lems to operation of sewage bio-treatment plants
and increase operating costs of the sewage net-
