USE
•
Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is NOT harmful and will
disappear after a short time. Therefore it is recommended to let your appliance work
empty for 10 minutes before the first use.
•
When using for the first time, wipe the surface of the plates with a damp cloth, then dry.
•
Close the appliance and plug into the electrical outlet. The red pilot light will come on to
indicate that the appliance is heating.
•
Select a temperature between 1 and 4 through the thermostat knob.
•
Leave the appliance closed during heating in order to avoid a waste of energy. When the
temperature is reached, the green pilot light goes on. Now you can start the baking
process.
•
During use, this green ready light will come on and off regularly. This simply means that the
thermostat is regulating the appliance's temperature.
•
Attention: during operation, the baking plates heat up. Pay attention not to get burned.
•
Open the appliance and lightly brush the baking plates with butter, margarine or cooking
oil.
•
Pour the dough evenly into the notches of the bottom baking plate but not all the way to
the edges and close the appliance. Press the lid down for a moment to spread the dough
evenly on the baking plate.
•
Bake until golden brown (about 5 minutes). If necessary, you can adapt the temperature
setting during use by turning the thermostat. When the waffles are ready, remove them
with a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use any sharp or metallic objects, as this might
damage the non-stick coating of the baking plates.
•
When you have finished baking, unplug the appliance and leave it open so that the
baking plates can cool down.
