Intended use
The radio wall clock shows the time, which is set automatically using a built-in DCF receiver. The
movement must be placed inside a clock face that is made up of individual components that you
assemble yourself and to which suitable hands are attached.
It is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms,
must be avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read
the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together
with its operating instructions.

Safety instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper
handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high
humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Do not open/dismantle the product (except for inserting/changing the batteries as
described in these instructions).
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the battery.
• The battery should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of
time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause
acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to
handle corrupted batteries.
• Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around,
as there is a risk that children or pets may swallow them.
• Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never recharge
non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.

Preparation for mounting
To determine a good location for the radio wall clock, first check for good signal reception. The
section on "DCF signal reception" explains how to do this.
Mounting
• The radio wall clock is designed to be mounted on a wall.
• Use the built-in hook on the back of the device to hang the clock.
Ensure that no existing cables or pipes (including water pipes) are damaged when
drilling mounting holes or securing screws.
• To attach the clock, use the screw supplied, making sure it protrudes a few millimetres from the
wall. Then hang the clock on the screw using the hook.
• Remove the protective film from the hour and minute hands before hanging the clock on a wall.
• The hands of the clock are not protected by a cover, so handle the clock with care when hanging
it on the wall. Avoid touching the hands, as this may easily damage them. (It is advisable to
mount the hands after mounting the clock on the wall.)
• Ensure that the hands can move freely and that they will not be blocked when they move. Do
not hang any objects on the clock or lean household objects, such as broomsticks or ladders,
against it.
• To mount the display elements, first remove all the hands from the clock.
• Make sure that the mounting surface is clean, level and dry.
• Place the paper template for the clock dial on top of the movement so that the hole in the middle
lines up centrally with it. Hold it there with your hand or, if necessary, use a little tape to keep
it in place.
• Remove the protective film from the back of the aluminium plates.
• Stick the aluminium plates onto the mounting surface using the paper template as a guide for
correct positioning. The diameter of your clock dial can be anywhere between 150 and 350 mm.
• Decorate the clock dial anyway you like (e.g by painting it).
• Hang the radio wall clock on the wall.
• Carefully attach the hour hand to the hand shaft, followed by the minute hand and finally the
second hand.
• Move all hands to the 12:00 position if the mounting hook is also located at 12:00.
• Ensure that the hands are parallel to the clock face so that they will not touch the clock when
they move.
• Remove the lock pin from its hole. The lock pin is located on the back of the clock face and is
designed to lock the clock to 12:00 during transport and storage.
• Your radio wall clock is now ready for use.
• To remove or replace the hands, press the RESET button for 3 seconds.
• Wait until all hands have moved to the 12:00 position.
• Remove the battery.
• Insert the lock pin (the lock pin can only be inserted when all of the hands are in the 12:00
position).
• Carefully remove the hands.
Operation
a) Inserting/changing the battery
• Remove the used battery (if applicable).
• The lock pin (on the rear of the clock face) must be removed before inserting the battery.
• Insert one 1.5 V AA battery (not included) into the battery compartment on the back of the clock,
making sure that the positive (+) and negative (-) poles are correctly aligned. We recommend
using an Alkaline battery.
• If the radio wall clock suddenly fails to keep the right time or the hands come to a stop, this
indicates that the battery needs to be changed.
We recommend that you use high-quality alkaline batteries in the interest of safety
and for a longer battery life.
b) DCF signal reception
• To ensure optimal DCF signal reception, the radio wall clock should not be placed next to other
electronic devices, cables, or metal objects.
• As soon as you insert the battery, the clock will make its first attempt to receive the DCF radio
time signal. The hands of the clock automatically move to the reception position (12 o'clock) and,
once the DCF signal has been received, will move to the correct time.
• This synchronisation process normally takes between 3 and 12 minutes. As soon as the DCF
signal has been decoded, which can take up to 5 minutes, the clock will display the correct time.
It takes a few minutes for the clock to detect and analyse the DCF signal. Do not move
the clock during this time. Do not adjust any controls during this time.
Poor DCF signal reception should be expected when the clock is near to metal-coated
insulated glass windows, reinforced concrete, coated wallpapers or electronic
devices, or when the clock is placed in a cellar.
If the correct time is still not displayed after 12 minutes, move the clock to a different
location and restart the DCF signal reception process manually. To do this, press the
RESET button on the rear of the housing using a pointed object. The clock attempts to
receive a time signal again (refer to "Manual DCF signal reception").
