Tips:
- Best gliding is achieved with the control arms right up (no brakes).
- Flight speed can be controlled with the brakes. Pull down the elevator stick carefully. Heavy
braking may result in stalling the glider.
- When combining the control functions (e.g. right and brake) the model will reduce speed and
fly constant circles. Caution: too strong braking in combination with strong steering
commands may cause unilaterally stalls and spin the model.
- Unexpected turbulences may cause the wing to collaps; normally the glider will open up again
quickly and you can continue your flight. Should the wing turn into the direction of the
collapsed side, counter steer slightly and await the reopening of the wing.
- Active flight: the skill of paragliding. In turbulent air, the glider may oscillate back and forth
slightly. Applying the brakes a bit will stop this effect and prevent collapsing of the glider.
- You can adjust the performance and speed of the model depending on the wind situation by
adding or reducing weight of the pilot:
- Light wind = light pilot = slow speed
=> approx. 2,4kg pilot weight
- Stronger wind = more weight on the pilot = higher speeds = agile flight characteristics
=> approx. 2,8kg pilot weight

8. Tipps zum RC-Astral / Tips for the RC Astral:

Der RC-Astral ist ein absolutes High-End Modell für Einsteiger, Fortgeschrittene und Profis. Die
Flugeigenschaften hinsichtlich der Leistung in der Thermik, beim Soaren und beim Motorfliegen
entsprechen denen des Originals.
Wichtig beim Start ist, dass der Schirm so ausgelegt wird, dass er „hufeisenförmig" auf dem Boden
liegt. Die Pilotenpuppe bzw. das Trike müssen so gehalten werden, dass sich die Bremsleinen nicht
verkürzen. Sind die Bremsleinen durch falsches Halten verkürzt, lässt sich der Schirm nicht starten.
Beim Aufziehen des Schirms sollte der Zug der Leinen als erstes bei den inneren und mittleren A-
Leinen ankommen. Deshalb wird der Schirm auch hufeisenförmig ausgelegt. Immer gegen den Wind
starten. Die Kammern/Zellen sollten leicht geöffnet sein, damit sich schnell der Staudruck beim
Aufziehen aufbauen kann. Das Starten ist die schwierigste Flugphase. Diese sollte man beherrschen.

Important on starting the glider is to lay it on the ground as a bow. The pilot respectively the trike
must be held without reducing the brake line length; in this case the glider will not start. Always
perform your start windwards. The cells should be opened slightly to enable the optimal air intake
upon start maneuver. You should practice the start procedure several times; it is the most important
flight phase.
