1. Introduction
Welcome to the Club of e-Scooter drivers!
We are very pleased to welcome you to the MODSTER Ultralight Alu S4 drivers community and we are sure you will enjoy this E-Scooter!
This operating manual explains the most important notes which you should observe, helps you to maintain your MODSTER Ultralight Alu S4
and describes the correct operation of the vehicle for safe and long-term use. All information is based on the technical state at the time of the
constitution of this operating manual. Changes and additions made in the meantime are not included in this version. You can find the latest
version of the manual online at www.der-schweighofer.com.

WARNING
ATTENTION: Be aware that driving with electrical assistance needs getting used to. The acceleration and therefore the force forward are very
intense. This unusual acceleration can lead to falls of unexperienced drivers. Begin carefully and make sure you have enough space. It is best
to practice in a protected place without traffic.
ATTENTION: In addition to the normal braking performance due to friction, when the footbrake is activated, the Ultralight Alu S4 brakes with
an electric motor brake. This improves the braking performance massively and leads to a shorter braking distance. Please be aware, however,
that the engine brake is not supported when:
• The battery is empty and therefore you drive with pure muscle power.
• The battery is 100% charged and therefore no energy can be regenerated.
The additional braking power of the engine brake is enormous and shortens the braking distance immensely. Be aware of this, especially if the
additional braking power is not present in the situations mentioned above.
ATTENTION: Always use the rear wheel brake to slow down and stop. Never brake on the floor by means of the sole of the foot! This means
that the motion control control is activated and you do not stop. This can be compared with the attempt to actuate both the gas and the brake
pedal in a car at the same time.
Be sure to read the operating instructions before using the e-Scooter! It will help you learn safe driving. Nobody should use the e-Scooter
without reading the instructions first.

2. Before Using

Before every ride the MODSTER Ultralight Alu S4 should be tested to be safe to drive.
The vehicle was delivered by the manufacturer completely ready for operation. As there may be defects due to the transport, as well as by
possible service periods, which could possibly impair the functions of the vehicle, please pay attention to the following points before the first
commissioning - as well as before each journey:
1. BRAKE: Check the proper functioning of the brake. In particular, you must know if you are starting with or without an electronic assistan-
ce brake (engine brake), since this is an enormous difference in the braking force (see chapter Warning).
2. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Before each ride, check the Ultralight Alu S4 to make sure that all the screws are tightly tightened and that no
components are loose.
3. FOLDING MECHANISM: Be sure that the folding mechanism is correctly clicked.
4. CHARGING THE BATTERY: Check the charge level of the battery using the display on the handle bar.
The battery is only partially charged. Charge the battery completely before using the vehicle for the first time.
Please always observe the laws and regulations applicable in your country regarding road traffic and vehicle class. Keep in mind that legisla-
tion may vary by country, and that MODSTER Ultralight Alu S4 does not have road registration. Please also check out www.der.schweighofer.
