Readjusting the rear spoiler
Besides the set up of the chassis, the handling
can also be influenced by readjusting the rear
spoiler.
Setting the rear spoiler at a steep angle provides
for downthrust and thus for greater attraction on
the rear axle at low speeds, and a more level po-
sition provides for downthrust at higher speeds.
The angle of the rear spoiler can be set to be
more steep or more level by and doing the
mounting device and readjusting it in a different
fastening point.

7. Maintenance

Checking the tooth flank play
Das Modell ist fahrfertig aufgebaut und kann The
model is already assembled ready to run and can
be put into operation immediately.
For optimum transfer of force, however, occa-
sionally the tooth flank play between the mo-
tor pinion and the main gear wheel should be
checked.
Only if the gear wheels turn smoothly and mesh
into one another without play will the moderate
power be used entyrely and premature wear
prevented.
For this, the motor shaft and the drive shafts to
the front and rear axles have to be aligned to be
precisely parallel and the gap adjusted in opti-
mum fashion.
Insert a strip of paper between the motor pi-
nion and the main gear wheel and turn it by
hand. If the strip of paper tears when drawn
in, then the gap is too small. As a result, tension may develop in the power train as well as premature wear of
the bearings in the clutch and motor.
If the gap is too large, the motor pinion may slip. The result would be jerking in the drive and premature wear
of the gear wheels.
To correct the gap, loosen the motor retainer screw and shift the motor accordingly.
Restoring the transmitter/receiver link
The transmitter and receiver are already correctly preset at the factory and can be used immediately. Restoring the
link is necessary only after changing the receiver and transmitter or to rectify an error.
Carry out the following procedure to restore the link:
Switch off the transmitter.
For safety reasons, disconnect the servo cable from the receiver
Plug in the binding cable into the connection for Channel 3 (Bind) on the receiver.
Connect the receiver rechargeable battery to the receiver. The LED on the receiver starts blinking..
Press the bind button on the transmitter and hold it down, while you switch the transmitter on.
When the LED on the receiver stops blinking, the binding is completed.
When the LED on the receiver stops blinking, the binding is completed. This may take about 5 seconds.
Release the bind button on the transmitter and detach the binding cable from the receiver
Connect the servo / speed controller back to the receiver
Check the functioning of the servos and the range of the remote control system. (page 27)
If the servos do not react correctly, repeat this procedure
