Commissioning

To ensure correct commissioning, do not fail to read these oper-
ating instructions including the safety instructions thoroughly and
attentively before use

Set-up

Do not place the active subwoofer in the direct vicinity of TV sets
or computer monitors. There is a risk that the magnetic fields gen-
erated by the loudspeakers could distort the picture.
When setting up the active subwoofer, make sure that it is on a
stable footing and that you find a correspondingly stable set-up
surface
Serious injury to persons can be caused if the loudspeakers fall
over.
To achieve the best possible sound, try to realise the following suggestions for posi-
tioning in the listening room as far as your possibilities allow:
Set up the subwoofer in such a manner that it is positioned as far as possible on one
line between the satellite loudspeakers.
In right-angled rooms, the loudspeakers should be set up as far as possible along a
short wall. .
The active subwoofer should be set up to be as free as possible (at least 50 cm away
from each wall).
Experiment with your set-up possibilities and also with the alignment of your loud-
speakers a little to determine the best location in your listening room.

It can be assumed that risk-free operation is no longer possible if
• the device shows visible signs of damage,
• the device no longer functions
• after a longer period of storage under unfavourable conditions or
• following heavy stress during transportation.
Observe the following safety instructions without fail before cleaning or servic-
ing the active subwoofer:
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or compo-
nents are removed.
Before servicing or repair works, the device must be disconnect-
ed from all sources of voltage.
Capacitors in the device may still be charged even if it has been
disconnected from all voltage sources.
Repair work must always be carried out by qualified experts
familiar with the hazards involved and with the relevant regula-
tions.
If fuses need to be changed, make sure that they are replaced exclusively with fus-
es of the same type and rated current (refer to the Technical Data).
It is not permitted to repair fuses or bridge the fuse holder.
• After disconnecting the device from the voltage source (disconnect the power
cable!), use a suitable screwdriver to prise out the fuse holder (9) with the defective
fuse.
• Remove the defective fuse and replace it with a fuse of the same type.
• Now screw the fuse cap (10) with the new fuse back cautiously into the fuse hold-
er.
• Only then may you reconnect the device to the mains power and take it into oper-
ation again.
Cleaning
The outside of the device should be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth or brush only.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions as the surface of the
housing could be damaged.
