Attention: Listening at high volumes can harm your ears.
Skip to previous/next fi le
I (5):
press 1 x = Skips to the previous
press 2 x = Plays one track before that, etc. Press and hold the
button to activate track search (the sound is muted).
I (4):
Use this button to skip to the next track, or the track after the
next. Press and hold the button to activate track search (the
sound is muted).
Stop playback
While a track is playing, press and hold the II /
until the display reads " ".
Key lock
The key lock inhibits the operation of all buttons (with the
exception of the ON/OFF switch (14)) on the MP3 player. This
prevents you from accidentally activating buttons while using the
MP3 player when you are out.
1. To activate the key lock press and hold the EQ / button
(6) until the display shows the lock symbol (5) („Key locked"
appears briefl y in the display).
2. To deactivate the lock function press and hold the EQ /
button (6) until the display no longer shows the lock symbol
(5) („Key unlocked" appears briefl y in the display).
Equalizer
Your MP3 player features six equalizer pre-settings which adjust
playback to the respective type of audio input.
The six settings are:
• Normal (no equalizer function)
•
ROCK
• JAZZ
• CLASS (classic)
•
POP
• BASS
The currently selected equaliser setting (1) is shown in the
display (7). If no equalizer setting is indicated, then the "Normal"
setting (no equalizer function) is activated.
• In order to change the equaliser setting, press the EQ /
key (6) briefl y until the next equaliser setting appears in the
display.
• Repeat until the desired equalizer function has been selected.
Note:
• These adjustments can also be carried out using the
„Settings / EQ" submenu.
• The equaliser setting is returned to the factory setting
„Normal" every time the device is switched on.

A-B (Repeat Passage)
Passages within a music fi le can be selected and repeated
1. During playback press the AB/R button (15) in the desired
piece of music when the starting point is reached from whe-
re the music should be repeated (A - appears in the display).
2. Press the AB/R button (15) when the point is reached at
which the repeat should end (A - B appears in the display).
The device is now in the A-B mode and begins with repeat
playback.
3. Press the AB/R button (15) again to deactivate the A-B
mode.
Dictation Function
1. Hold down the AB/R key (15). REC and (for example)
V001.WAV appear in the display. Recording begins auto-
matically.
2. To stop recording, press the AB/R key (15) again (VOC
appears in the display).
3. In order to listen to the recorded fi le, select the correspon-
ding recording number with the
press the II / key (1).
4. If you would like to change back to the MP3 mode, press the
key (8) and select the „Music" mode.
5. Then confi rm with the key (8).
Note:
• In order to delete the recording again please proceed as
described under „Deleting a Music File".
• Whenever you are recording please ensure that the micro-
phone is pointing in the direction of the sound source and is
not blocked by objects, hands etc.
• During recording only the AB/R key (15) can be pressed.
Main Menu
In the main menu it is possible to choose between the „Music",
„Voice ", „Settings", „Delete", „Information " and „Browser"
modes.
• In order to call up the main menu press the

1. Press the „ I" (right) or „I
main menu to select the desired mode. The menu image
of the selected mode appears in the display with a dark
backing.
2. Press (8) to confi rm your selection and change to the
corresponding submenu.
Note: The device leaves the menu if no key is operated for
approximately 5 seconds.
Music
In order to change from the WAV mode back to the MP3 mode.
Voice (Microphone)
To change from the MP3 mode to the WAV mode. You should
then proceed as described under „Dictation Function".
