8.8 ELIMINATION OF FAULTS

Preconditions
– Machine is correctly connected to the mains supply.
– Micro fuses in the electrical section are not def-
ective.
FAULT
Drive motor does not run
Machine does not run, drive motor
„buzzes"
Drive motor runs, strap does not advance
Strap feeding malfunction
Strap take-up does not function
No welding
Welding insuffi cient

The mechanical assemblies should be suffi ciently dis-
mantled for disposal as scrap metal.
No heavy metals or physical or chemical substances
harmful to health were used in the construction of the
strapping head.

F1 = Primary
F2 = Motor
F3 = Heating element welding transformer
F4 = Control transformator 24 V
ACTION
– Check whether the machine is connected to the
mains.
– Check whether the main switch is on.
– Check whether the table top is correctly closed.
– Check micro fuses.
– Close table top, switch main switch off and then on
again, activate push-button „Reset" (3/2).
– Activate push-button „Reset" (3/2). Remove strap
remnants.
– Check whether the slide fl ap is closed.
– Check whether there is still strap on the coil.
– Check whether strap is correctly inserted.
– Swivel away slide fl ap and remove any strap
remnants.
– Check tension of the drive belt.
– Check functioning of electromagnetic coupling Y3.
– Activate push-button „Reset" (3/2) and remove the
strap.
– Check proximity switch B3.
– Check tensioning belt.
– Check functioning of electromagnetic clutch Y2.
– Activate push-button „Reset" (3/2). Remove strap
remnants.
– Check height setting of the heating element.
– Check heating element.
– Check knife (without cutting of the strap – no
welding).
– Check proximity switch B3.
– Check welding transformer T1.
– Check setting of welding temperature (temperature
range from 220° to 325°).
– Heating element bent: exchange.
– Check height setting of the heating element (refer to
chapter 8.2).

DISMANTLING AND DISPOSAL

The electrical assemblies should be dismantled so
that the mechanical, electromechanical and electronic
components can be disposed of separately.
The statutory regulations for disposal should be follo-
wed.
Faults can often only be eliminated by
qualifi ed personnel.
