7. Installation and Connection

a) Outdoor Unit

The outdoor unit should be installed in an area protected from direct precipitation (e.g. under an awning
next to the entrance door), so that the visitor is standing right in front of it when he pushes the button and
speaks into the microphone.
When drilling or tightening screws, ensure that no wires or lines are damaged! This also applies when
placing the connection cables (voltage/power supply and door opener) and any masonry work that may be
needed for this.
Proceed as follows:
• Take off the weather protection frame from the outdoor unit.
• Mark the mounting position on the wall through the three holes of the weather protection frame. Depending on the
base, you may need to drill holes and apply dowels (A1, A2, A3).
Select the installation height on the wall so that the speaker or the microphone in the outdoor unit is not
placed too low or too high, depending on the local situation.
• Place the connection cable between the outdoor and indoor unit and to the door opener and the power supply. The
2-pin connection cable (B1) leads to the door opener, the 3-pin connection cable to the indoor unit. Protect the plugs
from dust and dirt with a small, suitable plastic bag or similar when pushing them through the wall.
• Connect the outdoor unit to the two connection cables (B1/B2 and C1/C2, see figure above).
• Attach the outdoor unit (with attached weather protection frame) to the wall with three suitable screws (D1, D2, D3)
and, if required, dowels (A1, A2, A3).
• Put the three delivered screw covers (the three small round plastic parts) into the openings of screw holes, so that
the smooth surface faces forward.
