Operation

Connection of a power pack
The flash head cable 6 is plugged into the flash socket of the
HENSEL power pack. Then the generator will be connected to
the mains outlet using its power cable (Before connecting to the
mains outlet please read carefully the instruction manual of the
generator). The maximum capacity of the connected ringflash
must be noted.
If the ringflash is connected to the HENSEL power pack (except
PORTY) the admissible capability of the ringflash will be
controlled by a special plug-code. When the maximum power
output of the generator exceeds the capability of the connected
ringflash, the code will block flash release or reduce flash power
of the generator.
Therefore, for the ringflash RF 3000-XS only original HENSEL
flash head extension cables with the plug-code must be used.
The cables can be ordered with precise specification from
HENSEL Studiotechnik.
For the ringflash RF 1200 P-XS a special extension cable with
round socket is available for connection to PORTY power pack.
The Ringflash 1200 P-XS is only approved for operation with
PORTY power pack (PORTY 1200 B or PORTY Premium
1200 AS/RC power pack).
Recommended power packs for Ringflash 3000-XS:
•
TRIA 1500 S and TRIA 3000 S/AS power packs,
•
VELA 1500 S/AS power packs
Third party manufacturers
Even through similar lamp sockets and plugs are used by other
manufactures as well, the ringflash must not be connected to
generators from these manufacturers. This requires in every
case an adapter cord. Ask your HENSEL agent about suitable
adapter cords for your brand.
Mechanical connection of the flash head cable

Before connecting the flash head cable to the flash socket of
a power pack, turn off lamp switches of the power pack and
switch the power pack to stand-by. If this is not possible,
turn off the power pack.

Make sure that cables, plugs and connectors are not
damaged in any way.
