Operating instructions
These operating instructions provide you with all information necessary
for correct, save and prescribed usage and maintenance of the Steam
Vacuum Cleaner DS 7. The instructions must be kept where they are
at all times accessible to the user.The fold-out page contains photos
which reference is made to in the machine description.
Prescribed usage
This machine is designed for the professional steam and vacuum
cleaning indoors according to these operating instructions. Any other
usage, in particular:
- removing any types of dust that may be dangerous to health
vacuuming any inflammable, poisonous, caustic, irritating or other
substances representing a health hazzard
- cleaning heat-sensitive materials
- using cleaning products or chemical admixtures in the fresh water
tank is not permisible and is forbidden on account to the
associated dangers..

2. General safety instructions
This machine is designed and constructed according to the present
state of the art and recognised technical saftey standards. It is
electrically tested and satisfies European Safety Standards.
Dangers can occur inspite of this, in particular in the case of
maloperation or non-compliance with the specifications and information
in the operating instructions.
2.1 Sources of danger, electrical voltage/electric current
Warning: „Danger!!!"
Contact with voltage or current carrying parts carries the risk of electric
shock, which can result in serious injury or even death. Never touch
damaged cables. Always switch-off and disconnect the power supply
before carrying out any work on the machine. Replace faulty cables
immediately.
2.2 Improper usage
Any usage of the machine for a purpose not covered und „Prescribed
usage" or the contractually agreed purpose is not permissible. The use
of the machine in an unserviceable condition or not in compliance with
the following presciptions is prohibited:
,- Protective devices must not be removed or by-passed.
- Conversions and modifications to the machine are not permitted.
- Defective supply cables are only to be replaced by authorised
persons.
Electrical operation (230 volts)
The machine is to be fitted with 16A fuse link.
2.3 Organisational points
It is the responsabiltiy of the operator to ensure that:
- the machine is operated only by persons who have been instructed
in ist handling and authorised to use it.
- the recognised occupational safety regulations are observed.
- any further national or international company regulations are
observed.
- all users are aquainted with the safety regulations and trained in the
use of the specific machine.
- all users have read and understood the operating instructions.
- responsabilites for the operation, maintenance and repair of the
machine are clearly assigned and observed.
- faults and damages are immediately notified to an authorised
service.
2.4 Emergencies
In case of an emergency:
- Pull the mains connector plug
- Immediately apply recognised First-Aid measures.
After incidents, do not resume operation with the machine until it
has been inspected by an authorised service.f
2.5 Operating for the first time
Delivery, instruction on safety rules, handling and maintenance, as well
as as operation for the first time is normally carried out by a specialist
approved by the manufacturer. Where this is not the case, the operator
is responsible for instructing the users.

3. Operating
3.1 Saftey instructions
• Whilst in operation, caution is to be exercised in respect to third
parties, especially children.
• To avoid injuries, wear sturdy footwear.
• When cleaning and servicing the machine or changing parts, pull out
the mains connector plug.
• Due to high temperatures, there is a danger of burning and scalding
when working with the machine.
• Never open security cover for fresh water filling opening whilst the
machine is under pressure.
• As soon as the red check lamp blinks, switch-off the heater switch
(yellow), let the rest of the steam escape through the nozzle and wait
until the machine has cooled off.
• The machine must never be left unsupervised when connected or
steam tank still hot.
• Use the concentrated steam jet of the nozzle only with heat-proof
material.
Make sure that the power supply cable is always in a servicable
condition.
Warning: Ensure that the power supply cable is not damaged by being
run over, crushed or dragged along.
3.2 Operation, Preparation
Make sure that the voltage indicated on the identification plate is the
same as that available in the building and that the socket has an earth
wire.
The machine is to be connected to a 230V 1N∼, 16A socket.
3.3 Restrictions to use
The fresh water tank/boiler must not be filled with cleaning products or
chemical admixtures. Only use tap water.
3.4 Preparations for working
• Place the machine on a horizontal surface.
• Unscrew the security cover of the fresh water filling hole.
• Fill the refilling bottle with tap water (10-60°), put on and tighten the
connecting pipe.
• Put the filling bottle on the fresh water filling hole of the machine and
push it slightly downwards.
• The fresh water tank/boiler has a capacity of 6.7 litres, which is
equivalent to approx. 4 bottle fillings.
• When used correctly, the filling bottle prevents a running over of the
fresh water tank/boiler.
• Put the security cover back on the fresh water tank filling hole and
tighten it securely.
• Put the vacuum hose in the hose connector of the tank cover. Put
the steam/ electronic plug into the socket of the machine. Ensure
