1. Place the base on a dry, level, solid, water and heat-resistant surface and insert the
mains plug in a properly installed socket.
2. Take the kettle off the base unit. Open it by pressing the PUSH button on the upper
part of the handle and fi ll the kettle with drinking water. Make sure that the water
level is between the MIN and MAX marks. If there is not enough water in the kettle,
the device will deactivate before completing the boiling process; if it is fi lled past the
MAX mark, water may spray out during the boiling process.
4. Place the kettle on the base unit.
5. Set the On/Off switch of the kettle to position I (ON). The device will turn on and the
LED light will illuminate. You can interrupt the boiling process at any time by setting
the On/Off switch to position 0 (OFF).
6. The kettle automatically deactivates once the water has boiled. The On/Off switch
sets automatically to position 0 (OFF) and the LED light switches off.
7. Remove the power plug from the socket and take the kettle off of the base and
carefully pour the water into a suitable container. Keep the lid closed when pouring
out the water.
8. If not in use, the kettle may be stored on the base. However, be sure to pull the mains
plug out of the socket.
If you accidentally use the kettle without any water, the device switches off auto-
matically. In this case, push the On/Off switch to position 0 (OFF) and let the kettle
cool off before using it again.

Cleaning and care

ATTENTION!
■ Never submerge the device, the mains cable, and the plug in water or other liquids.
■ When cleaning, do not use any aggressive, scouring or toxic cleaners.
■ Prior to each cleaning, pull the plug out of the socket.
■ Allow the device to cool off before cleaning.
• Wipe the device off from the outside with a clean, damp cloth.
• Keep the device in a ready-to-operate state. You should remove limescale from
water on a regular basis and according to the water quality in your region and the
frequency of use. Use a decalcifi er for this. Follow the instructions of the decalcifi er
when decalcifying the kettle.

3. Close the lid. Make sure that you only touch the plastic
application when closing the lid (see arrow in the picture)
to prevent touching any hot metal surface by accident
when the device has been used recently.
