■ Do not operate the device without water in it or with less water than is required to
reach the MIN marking. If this does happen, the device switches off automatically.
In this case, push the On/Off switch to the position 0 (OFF) and let the kettle cool off
before you fi ll in and boil cold water again.
■ Each time before boiling, ensure that the lid is properly closed and that the On/Off
switch is not jammed. The device only switches off automatically, when the lid is
closed and the On/Off switch is not jammed.
■ Maintain a suffi cient distance from heat sources such as hobs or ovens in order not
to damage the device. Do not place any naked fl ames, e.g. burning candles, in the
immediate vicinity of the device, cable or plug.
■ Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently.
■ Do not pull or carry the base station by the cable.
■ Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, wide temperature variations,
moisture, wet conditions or direct sunlight.
■ Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. These can
damage the surface.
Notes on Hygiene
■ There may still be some production residues on the device. To avoid harmful effects
to your health, clean the device before you fi rst use it (see chapter "Cleaning and
care").
■ Only use fresh (potable) drinking water that is cold to medium-warm for boiling water.
Do not use any water that comes from a bath, wash basin or other containers.
■ Keep the device clean.
