Use:
- Exped Chair Kit can be used as a sitting chair (Fig. 1) or as a stretch lounge (Fig. 2). Converts
quickly without getting up from the chair to a sleeping mat, just uncinch tensioing buckles and undo
the quick release buckles.
- Use as a protective cover only (without poles or adjustment straps) to reduce weight. Just pull out
the 4 poles and undo the cinching straps.
- Couple multiple mats using the side buckles, provided the other mat is covered also by an Exped
Chair Kit.
- The expansion pack sack allows packing of Chair Kit without removal of the inside mat. However
remove the 4 poles from sleeves, then roll up mat starting at foot side together with poles bundle.
Otherwise just fold mat and push out as much air as possible. Volume won't be as tight as rolled, but
if you are on tour using a sled or vehicle, it won't matter.
- 7001-T6 aircraft aluminum poles are very strong and are also used in tents.
Care:
- Dry the Chair Kit thoroughly before prolonged storage to prevent mold and breakdown of the PU-
coating (hydrolysis).
- Clean with lukewarm water in a hand wash using a brush. Do not machine wash.
- Do not leave in the sun for long periods of time since lightweight fabrics deteriorate if exposed to
UV radiation. Also keep away from heat sources and fire.
- Strongest construction using bartacks, reinforcement patches, and "force-triangle-adjustment"
strap system. However if ripped, stitch up, then treat the seam with a a silicone based textile glue
as Seamgrip by McNett.
Storage:
- Be sure to store Chair Kit preferably unpacked in a dry and cool area.
Tips:
- There is room for extra protection with foam mat inserted into lower side (e.g. optional Exped Dou-
blemat Evazote)
- Exped is short for 'Expedition equipment for outdoor enthusiasts by outdoor enthusiasts.' Exped
emphasizes 'maximum use with the minimum weight.'

Gebrauch:
- Verwendung als Sessel (Fig. 1) oder als Liegesitz (Fig. 2), dazu nur die Klemmschnallen lösen und
Blitzverschlüsse aufklicken, fertig. Dieses Umrüsten vom Sessel zur Schlafmatte kann geschehen
ohne dass man extra aufstehen muss, was höchst bequem ist.
- Bei Verwendung alleine als schützender Überzug für die Matte braucht man nur die 4 Stangen her-
auszunehmen und die Gurten abgzuschnallen. So kann man auch beträchtlich an Gewicht sparen.
- Mittels der seitlichen Blitzverschlüsse sind mehrere Matten aneinander koppelbar, sofern die wei-
teren Matten auch mit Chair Kits versehen sind.
- Verpacken: will man die Matte im Chair Kit drinlassen um diese aufzurollen. Dazu die 4 Stangen
durch seitliches Abkippen aus den Kanälen herausnehmen und mit der Matte zusammen einrollen.
Ansonsten die Matte mit Chair Kit falten und zusammenpressen, doch dann muss ein grösseres
Volumen in Kauf genommen werden, was bei Einsatz eines Schlittens, Fahrzeugs etc. problemlos
ist.
- Der Expansionspacksack ist speziell gross und anpassbar konstruiert, so dass er Verpacken der
Matte zusammen mit dem Chair Kit erlaubt.
