Fuel and Chain Oil
m WARNING!: Fuel and chain oil are highly flammable.
Do not smoke and or expose the unit to an open flame
when you use the device.
Fuel
For optimal results, use normal unleaded fuel (max. 5%
Bio-ethanol) blended with special 2-stroke oil.
Fuel mixture
Mix the fuel with 2-stroke oil in a suitable container.
Shake the container to mix everything carefully.
m CAUTION!: Never use pure gasoline for this saw. It
will damage the engine and you will lose the warranty
for this product. Do not use a fuel mixture that has been
stored for longer than 90 days.
m CAUTION!: Special 2-stroke oil must be used for air-
cooled 2-stroke engines with a 40:1 ratio. Insufficient oil
will damage the engine and, in this case, void the war-
ranty for the motor.
Recommended fuels
Some conventional gasolines are blended with ingredi-
ents such as alcohol or ether compounds to meet the
standards for clean exhaust gases. The engine runs sat-
isfactorily with all grades of gasoline, but for the purpose
of self-propulsion with oxygenated gasolines, it is best to
use regular gasoline. At best, use regular unleaded fuel
(max. 5% Bio-ethanol).
Oiling of the chain and bar
Every time the fuel tank is filled with gasoline, oil must al-
so be added to the chain oil tank.
It is recommended to use commercial chain oil.
1. Put the machine to the side (Housing cover saw
chain drive unit (17))
2. Remove the oil tank cap (14) and fuel tank cap (12).
3. Fill the chain oil tank (Fig.9/Pos.D1) to 80% with
chain oil.
4. Pour the petrol-/oil mixture into the fuel tank (Fig.9/
Pos.D2).
5. Close Oil tank cap (14) and fuel tank cap (12).
Chain Brake (Fig.14)
m NOTE
Before each use always check that the chain brake
is functioning.
• Hold the chain saw by the front handle (4).
• Press the front hand guard (3) forward to position (3b).
Press the pedal, the chain should not move.
• Pull the front handle (3) back to position (3a). Press
the pedal, the chain should move.
Oil Supply Control
To check the chain lubrication keep the chain on a piece
of paper and give full throttle for a few seconds. On the
paper the quantity of oil can be checked.
m NOTE
Make sure that there is always enough oil in the tank be-
cause chain lubrication is always on.
Automatic chain lubrication - Settings possible!

8. Operation

Start the appliance (Fig.10-13)
m CAUTION!: Before you start the engine, make
sure that the chain isn't touching anything and the
chain brake is activated before each start.
1. Set the power switch (11) to position „ON". (Fig.10/
Pos.11a)
2. Press the fuel pump button (16) until this is filled with
fuel.
m NOTE
When restarting immediately after stopping the engine,
do not pull out the CHOKE (7).
1. Press the front handle (3) forward to activate the
chain brake
2. Place the saw on a firm, level surface. Hold the saw
firmly with the foot as indicated. Quickly pull the start-
er (13) 2 times. Pay attention to the running chain!
3. Once the engine has started, press the throttle trig-
ger lock (8) and the throttle lever (10) so that the
CHOKE knob (7) clicks into place again.
4. Pull the front handle (3) backwards to release the
chain brake.
5. Let the engine warm up, controlling the throttle set-
ting (10) and letting the chain run briefly.
Stopping the motor (Fig.10)
1. Release the throttle lever and wait until the engine is
idling.
2. Set the power switch to „Stop (0)" to stop the motor.
(Fig.10/Pos.11b)
m NOTE
To stop the engine in an emergency, activate the chain
brake and set the ON / OFF switch to „Stop".

9. Cleaning and maintenance

m WARNING
Disconnect the spark plug boot before doing any clean-
ing and maintenance work. (Fig. 19)
Cleaning
• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor-
housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible.Wipe
the equipment with a clean cloth or blow itwith com-
pressed air at low pressure. ATTENTION! Wear safe-
ty glasses!
