Important information
Read instructions carefully before installation. Please keep instructions
for future reference and hand them over to any new user.
Safety
• Heat recovery ventilation unit VELUX smart ventilation ZOV can be used
by persons (aged 8 years and above) with sufficient experience and
knowledge if they have been given instruction concerning safe use and
understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance must not
be made by unsupervised children.
• For personal safety, never insert fingers, hands or any other objects into
the heat recovery ventilation unit when it is connected to the mains sup-
ply.
• Do not use the heat recovery ventilation unit until it has been completely
installed in accordance with the instructions.
• If mains cable is damaged, it must be replaced by qualified personnel in
accordance with national regulations.
• If repair or adjustment work is needed, disconnect mains supply and
ensure that it cannot be reconnected unintentionally.
Product
• As a precondition to avoiding any damage to the heat recovery ventilation
unit in very cold regions and in regions with heavy snowfall, either a snow-
wedge or a snow stop must be installed above the roof window.
• Sound pressure level: L ≤ 70 dB(A).

• Electrical products must be disposed of in conformity with national regu-
lations for electronic waste and not with household waste.
• The packaging can be disposed of with usual household waste.

Maintenance and service

• Disconnect mains supply before carrying out any maintenance or service
work to the heat recovery ventilation unit and ensure that it cannot be
reconnected unintentionally.
• Spare parts are available through your VELUX sales company. Please
provide information from the data label.

− have been manufactured in accordance with the harmonised standards
When one of the above-mentioned heat recovery ventilation units is installed
in accordance with the instructions and requirements, the total system com-
plies with the essential requirements of the Directives 2006/42/EC,
2014/30/EU and 2014/35/EU of the European Parliament and Council.
