b) Charging the built-in rechargeable battery via solar energy
The built-in rechargeable battery of the solar charger can be recharged via built-in solar
module (1) or suitable USB power supply. For best results it is recommended to placing the
solar charger with its solar module (1) into direct sunlight for charging. It is also possible to
use an artificial light source, which is nevertheless not as powerful as sunlight.
1. Recharge the built-in rechargeable battery when the capacity is below 40%.
2. To do so, place the solar charger with the solar module (1) facing upwards into sunlight or
any other sufficient light source. Protect the product from moisture, e.g. rain.
3. Charging starts automatically. The first LED of the charging indicator lamp (4) lights up
green. The more energy the solar module (1) produces, the stronger the green LED lights
up.
4. To check the current charging status, press the TEST button (3).
c) Charging the built-in rechargeable battery via USB
Use the Micro-USB cable mainly for charging the built-in rechargeable battery via IN 5V Micro
USB port (5). It can also be used for charging a mobile device via OUT 5V USB A port (6).
In case of insufficient sunlight or artificial light, recharge the rechargeable battery via USB
power supply.
1. Recharge the built-in rechargeable battery when the capacity is below 40%.
2. Connect the Micro-USB plug of the Micro-USB cable to the IN 5V Micro-USB port (5) of the
solar charger.
3. Connect the USB A plug (6) of the Micro-USB cable to the USB port of a computer or other
USB power supply. Charging starts once the USB power source supplies power.
4. One LED of the charging indicator lamp (4) flashing indicates that the built-in rechargeable
battery is charging. LEDs combined indicate the current charging status of the built-in
rechargeable battery in percent (%) (see chapter "Checking the charge status"). All four
LEDs light up simultaneously when the built-in rechargeable battery has been fully charged.
5. Disconnect the product from the USB power source once the charging indicator lamp (4)
indicates a fully charged battery. The built-in rechargeable battery is then ready for use.
