Connection to the load and to the on-board mains
Connect the selected output connector to the notebook to be
operated.
Connection to the on-board mains of cars
Connect the notebook converter to the 12-V/DC on-board mains of
your car. Place the device on a flame-retardant surface and ensure
sufficient cooling and air circulation.

Connection to the on-board mains of aeroplanes
Remove the cigarette lighter adapter from the input connector
(slightly press "TAB"). Now, the input connector can be connected to
the socket of your seat (for many airlines, this is even standard of the
economy class).
After connection to the on-board mains, the LED of the jumper for
selecting the voltage lights and thus indicates proper operation. If the
LED does not light, check the input voltage of the notebook converter
or the fuse integrated into the cigarette lighter connector.
Switch on the connected notebook. If the notebook does not work,
immediately switch it off, separate it from the notebook converter and
check again the previous steps.

• Operate the notebook converter in cars or aeroplanes only. Never
connect the cigarette lighter connector to the sockets of other
vehicles.
• Do not expose the device to direct sunlight or to temperatures
below -20 °C or above +70 °C.
• Check the input voltage and power consumption of the notebook
to be connected before connecting the notebook converter.
• Wrong voltage and polarity as well as excessive power
consumption might destroy the notebook or the notebook
converter.

Product description

The notebook converter allows the operation of loads such as laptop/
notebook computers at a 12-V/DC on-board mains of cars or
aeroplanes. For this purpose, the 12-V direct voltage is transformed
by means of a cycled voltage converter into an output voltage of 15
up to 24 V/DC that can be adjusted in six steps. The efficiency is
approx. 90 %. The maximum output current is 5 A. The seven output
connectors enclosed in the delivery cover most of the notebook
computers available on the market. The polarity of the output voltage
is preset (middle contact = positive, outer contact = negative polarity).
Features such as overload protection, short-circuit protection as well
as temperature cut-off protect the device against damage. The input
is provided with an undervoltage and overvoltage cut-off. As soon as
- after a protective cut-off - normal conditions are restored, the
notebook converter is switched on automatically.
