•
Check the cord regularly. If it is damaged, such as by squeezing, then it must be replaced by
a qualified technician.
•
Do not touch the device, cable and plug with wet or damp hands.
•
Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Should the device have fallen into the
water, immediately disconnect the power supply and have the appliance check by a qualified
technician before reusing it. There is danger to life due to electric shock!
•
Do not use a damaged device! In this case, disconnect the device from the mains and consult
your dealer!
•
Never try to open the device itself or even to repair. There is a danger of life!
•
Turn off the device at a remaining liquid in the tank of approx. 3 cups, do not allow to
run dry!
•
Do not leave the device unattended during use. Be especially careful if children are nearby,
because they may not recognize the dangers associated with electrical appliances and
injuries can occur due to the build-up of heat.
•
Caution! The unit is powered as long as it is connected to the mains.
•
Always pull the plug out of the socket before cleaning and refilling, as well as during longer
periods of inactivity and allow the device to cool down before storage.
•
The device must be periodically decalcified, depending on use and water hardness.
3. Initial operation
•
Remove the packaging material and place the appliance on a horizontal, stable, slip-resistant
and heat-resistant surface.
•
Clean the inside of the tank (4) with a commercially available detergent, remove any
detergent residue and dry with a soft cloth after.
Wipe the outside surface of the unit with a damp cloth and then dry with a soft cloth after.
Make sure that the cable and the plug do not get wet.
The device lid (2), distributor/safety hat (11), filter container (12), riser pipe holder (14) and
the riser pipe (13) can be cleaned in a sink with a mild detergent and soft cloth/sponge, then
rinse and dry.
•
After cleaning reassemble the device:
1. Place rise pipe holder (14) onto the riser pipe(13)
2. Insert the riser pipe (13) together with the riser pipe holder (14) in the container (4),
centered in the hollow
3. Fill the container (4) with drinking water up until the "MAX"-mark
4. Place the filter container (12) onto the rise pipe (13)
5. Place the dispatcher/safety hat (11) onto the riser pipe (13)
6. Cover with lid (2) and lock
•
Before initial operation to make coffee, now switch on the machine (8) and let the water boil.
Depending on the model, the heating process takes between 35 and 50 minutes (also
depending on the water and ambient temperature and the filling quantity).
When the heating process is completed the red indicator turns off, the machine switches to
warm-keeping function, the green indicator light comes on.
Now throw away the water.
CAUTION: hot water and hot stainless steel parts!
If time permits a previous cooling would be safer!
The coffee machine is now cleaned and ready for use.
