8. Commissioning

8.1 Setting outlet pressure

Set outlet pressure min. 1 bar under inlet pressure.
1. Close shutoff valve on inlet
2. Release pressure on outlet side (e.g. through water tap)
3. Close shutoff valve on outlet
4. Loosen hexagon nut
5. Slowly open shutoff valve on inlet
6. Rotate adjustment screw, until the pressure gauge shows the desired
value
7. Retighten hexagon nut
8. Slowly open shutoff valve on outlet

8.2 Reverse rinsing

During reverse rinsing, an inlet pressure of at least 1.5 bar is required. The
reverse rinsing interval depends on the degree of dirt in the water. At the
latest every 2 months, reverse rinsing should be carried out according to DIN
1988, Part 8. To ensure convenient and regular adherence to the reverse
rinsing interval, we recommend installing an automated reverse rinsing
system Z11AS.
Filtered water can also be tapped during reverse rinsing.
8.2.1 Manual reverse rinsing
If reverse rinsing water is not to be discharged via a direct connection, a coll-
ecting container must be positioned beneath before reverse rinsing.
1. Slowly open the ball valve
o The patented reverse rinsing system starts
2. Close ball valve again after approx. 3 seconds. Repeat procedure three
times
o If the filter is extremely dirty, the procedure may have to be repeated
additional times
8.2.2 Automatic reverse rinsing with the Z11AS
The automated reverse rinsing system Z11AS is available as an accessory.
The automated system reliably takes over reverse rinsing of the filter at inter-
vals which can be set between 4 minutes and 3 months.
8.2.3 Differential pressure controlled reverse rinsing with the DDS76
and Z11AS
Also available as an accessory is the DDS76 differential pressure switch. It
provides fully automatic operation of the reverse rinsing which is controlled by
the differential pressure across the filter. It actuates a reverse rinsing cycle
when the pressure differential between the inlet and outlet of the filter reaches
a predetermined value. If the pressure difference exceeds the preset value,
then the Z11AS reverse rinsing actuator is operated via its volt-free input.

9. Maintenance

9.1 Inspection
We recommend a planned maintenance contract with an installation
company
In accordance with DIN 1988, part 8, the following measures must be taken:
9.1.1 Check valve
Interval: once a year
1. Close shutoff valve on inlet
2. Open test valve
o Until the pressure is released, some water will flow out of the test valve.
After a short period of time the water flow should stop. If the water conti-
nues to drip or run, then the check valve must be replaced - see servicing
of check valve
3. Close test valve again
4. Slowly open shutoff valve on inlet

9.1.2 Filter
Interval: every 2 months
• The filter must be cleaned by reverse rinsing regularly, at the latest every
2 months
• Non-compliance can lead to the filter becoming blocked This results in a
drop in pressure and decreasing water flow
• The filter meshes are made of stainless steel. A red coating as a conse-
quence of rust from the pipelines has no influence on function or the way
the filter works
Do not forget to do a visual check of the ball
valve. Replace if it is dripping!
9.1.3 Pressure reducing valve
Interval: once a year
1. Close shut off valve on outlet
2. Check back pressure using a pressure meter when there is zero through-
flow
o If the pressure is increasing slowly, the valve may be dirty or defective.
In this instance, carry out servicing and cleaning
3. Slowly open shutoff valve on outlet
9.2 Maintenance
Frequency: every 1-3 years (depending on local operating conditions)
To be carried out by an installation company
9.2.1 Check valve
1. Close shutoff valve on inlet
2. Release pressure on outlet side (e.g. through water tap)
3. Close shutoff valve on outlet
4. Replace check valve
5. Slowly open shut off valves on inlet and outlet
9.2.2 Filter
9.2.3 Change the filter insert
1. Close shutoff valve on inlet
2. Release pressure on outlet side (e.g. through water tap)
3. Close shutoff valve on outlet
4. Unscrew filter bowl
5. Remove filter cartridge
6. Insert new filter insert
o Put on the O-ring
7. Put new O-ring on filter bowl
8. Screw filter bowl in place
9. Slowly open shutoff valve on inlet
10.Slowly open shutoff valve on outlet
9.2.4 Replace filter mesh
1. Close shutoff valve on inlet
2. Release pressure on outlet side (e.g. through water tap)
3. Close shutoff valve on outlet
4. Unscrew filter bowl
5. Remove filter cartridge
6. Loosen screw
7. Remove filter insert
There is a pressure spring in the filter insert. Injuries may be caused by
the pressure spring jumping out.
• Make sure tension in compression spring is slakkened!
8. Replacing sieve
9. Mount the filter insert
10.Insert filter insert
11.Put new O-ring on filter bowl
12.Screw filter bowl in place
13.Slowly open shutoff valve on inlet
14.Slowly open shutoff valve on outlet
