The lifespan and condition depends largely upon how carefully you handle and maintain your
parachute. It is for this reason we recommend to have the parachute regularly inspected and
repacked at the prescribed intervals in order to identify any wear or damage.
During normal use you have to take care of the following points:
If the parachute has been exposed to liquid, it must be opened and dried in a well ventilated
place as soon as possible, but avoid direct sunlight. Fast drying is important in order to avoid
mould stains. After the parachute is complete dry it can be repacked. (also see 10. Cleaning)
If the parachute is strained more than normal (for example: a car drove over the harness in
which the parachute is placed, or is damaged by a sharp object) or sustains any other type of
damage, you must send the parachute to the manufacturer / approved repair centre for
inspection. Avoid contact with salt water, acids or other aggressive chemical substances.
Also
avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight, as the UV rays may damage the molecular structure of
the material.
10. Cleaning
A dirty canopy and container can be carefully cleaned with clear water and a soft
sponge.
Attention: Never use detergents, chemicals, brushes or hard sponges to clean the
parachute! Please do not use a washing machine for cleaning purposes. . If the rescue
parachute comes into contact with salt water, it is important to rinse extensively with fresh
water. Frequent cleaning will accelerate the ageing of the rescue.
After landing into water the centerlines can shrink (up to 15cm). This does not imply a
general impairment of the functionality of the rescue-system. A stretching of the lines is not
necessary.
11. Repairs
Repair jobs must be done only by the manufacturer or a repair centre which is certified by the
manufacturer.
12. Nature and environmentally-friendly behaviour
Please undertake flying activities in a way which does not stress nature and environment.
Please do not walk beside the marked ways, don ́ t leave your litter, or make unnecessary loud
noises. Please respect the sensitive balance in the mountains. It is important to take care of our
take-off areas and the nature that surrounds them.
13. Environmentally compatible waste disposal
