GENERAL
The PHONE-AMP G93 is a stereo headphone
amplifier. Different to most comparable models
its internal operating voltage may be altered to
match the specific
headphones. Due to this "OPTI-MODE" called
technique, this head-phone amplifier is able to
drive nearly all existing head-phones from 8 ...
600 ohms load impedance.
Because of its noise- and THD-optimized circui-
try layout, PHONE-AMP G93 covers high
quality demands.
HINT:
Ex works PHONE-AMP G93 is always set to
low voltage mode and low gain mode.
In spite of its compact dimensions, PHONE-
AMP G93 offers optimum flexibility and high
power.
Reliability even under rough or improper hand-
ling conditions has been another important goal
of development.
Thus, the unit is absolutely long-term short-
circuit proof.
In addition, the PHONE-AMP G937 is equipped
with filters to prevent overload by inaudibly low
and high frequencies.
THE CASE
The case of PHONE-AMP G93 is made of 4
mm aluminium, the front- and back panels
consists of 2 mm stainless steel.
This provides high mechanical stability and
resistance against rough handling.
The cases surfaces are not treated with any
material, so providing excellent electrical con-
ductances for optimum EMC characteristics.

EARTH AND GROUND
The Case of PHONE-AMP G93 is connected to
earth potential, the internal ground potential is
connected to earth with the aid of a jumper.
If necessary the jumper may be set to "LIFT"
position (see page 11 "The earth/grounding
concept and page 16 "Jumper settings").

THE POWER SUPPLY

Mains is connected via a three-wire mains
cable with schuko-type mains connector.
If necessary, mains voltage can be internally
altered from 230 to 115 V.
The "POWER"-switch is situated on the front
panel. Power status is displayed by a green
LED situated near the power switch.
The mains transformers are long-term short-
circuit proof. The internal supply may be altered
by jumpers from +/- 15 V to +/- 30 V.
HINT:
The unit is set to +/- 15 Volt operation ex works.
This is recommended together with low to
medium impedance (8 ... 200 Ohms) head-
phones.
The operation with +/- 30 Volt enables a high
voltage output with low distortion when medium
to high impedance (100 ... 600 Ohms)
headphones are prefered.
THE MAINS FUSE
The 0,25 AT fuse is internally soldered in place
on the power supply PCB.
