Preheat Oven
For optimum cooking, preheat the oven. Pre-heating is absolutely essential for grilling and dry frying. Pre-heating is
also beneficial for faster baking and roasling, providing quicker sealing/browning.
Cooking Time
Cooking times shown in the cook book will vary depending on the volume, weight, temperature and mass of the food
or the desired finish/crispness. Remember the most important thing is to cook to your satisfaction. Thaw meats to
room temperature before cooking them. If not, they will take longer to cook thoroughly.
Placing Food At Center
Placing food at the center encourages maximum air flow around and under for fast cooking. Expect to turn once at
higher temperature, then reduce heat for best cooking of meats (beef, lamb, pork or veal).
DO NOT USE THE PRESET (DELAY) TIMER FEATURE FOR RAW MEATS
Please be careful when using the pre-set (delay) feature on the oven. Placing meats in the cooker and then delay the
cooking start time by several hours on a hot day can cause growth of bacteria which might lead to illnesses.
Remember to always PRE-HEAT your oven before using it. When cooking meats or other foods, always remember
that the bigger the portion the longer it takes to cook.
For instance: 1 kg = 1 hour at 250°C
2 kg = 2 hours at 250°C
l Smaller pieces of meat will take you anything from 20 minutes to 35 minutes at 250°C. This again depends on the
size of meat pieces.
l When baking, most of the baking is done at 190°C. To make pastries (e.g pies) crispy, temperature can be be
adjusted to 250°C.
l When cooking vegetables, place them in an oven baking bad or tin foil. Remember to add at least 2 teaspoons of
water into the baking bag/tin foil. Cook at 250°C.
l If for you want to cook rice, add 1 cup of water to 1 cup of rice in an oven baking bag.
l Soft boiled vegetables take between 20 to 30 minutes to cook.
l Hard boiled vegetables take between 30 to 40 minutes to cook.
l Eggs can be put in without adding water. It takes anything from 8 minutes (soft boiled) to 10 minutes (hard boiled)
and you can cook as many as you like. If eggs were in a fridge add an extra 2 minutes at 250°C.
l Potatoes with the skin on must be spiked with a fork and placed in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Potatoes without
skin must also be spiked with the fork and cut in half or quarters, dipped in oil then placeed in the oven for 30 to 35
minutes. This is equally at 250°C.
DO NOT over load the oven with too many foods at once. Allow air to flow all around your food so that it
can cook evenly on all sides.
DO NOT put any plastics (including microwave plastics) or any thin glass such as plates or dishes into
the oven.
You can put metal materials/thick glass plates and oven dishes into the oven.
Note: All cooking times and methods included in this manual are suggestions only. Personal preferences
will require you to try out times/methods for yourself in order to achieve the desired results for your
cooking/eating style.
