1.0 INTRODUCTION
The breakglass unit is available with
the following features:
Transparent lift flap (optional)
Single Pole or Double Pole Switch
Up to 4 x M20 gland entries
Up to 6 x 4.0 mm terminals

Luminescent painted backplate
(optional)
The information contained in this
manual applies to all the above
units.

2.0 INSTALLATION

2.1 Mounting Details
The breakglass unit should be mount-
ed on a vertical surface using the two
fixing holes in the base. These fix-
ing holes are accessible by removing
the cover.The fixing holes have been
designed to accept a cap head screw
or bolt. MEDC recommend the use of
stainless steel fasteners.
A mounting template can be supplied
to position mounting holes prior to
mounting unit.
2.2 Cable Glands
Ensure that only the correct certified
glands are used.
All cable glands should be of an
equivalent IP rating to that of the
unit.
In order to maintain the IP rating of
the unit, the glands should be sealed
to the unit using a sealing washer
or sealing compound. We recom-
mend the use of 'HYLOMAR PL32
COMPOUND'.
2.3 Wiring
All wiring to comply with the relevant
wiring diagram.
MEDC recommend that all cables
and cores should be fully identified.
When installing and operating ex-
plosion-proof electrical equipment,
the relevant national regulations
for installation and operation (e.g.
EN60079-14 and BS7671:1992)
must be observed.

2.0 INSTALLATION
2.1 Installation
Le boîtier doit être installé sur une
surface verticale en utilisant les deux
trous de fixation prévus à cet effet.
Ces deux trous qui sont accessibles
en démontant le couvercle ont été
conçus pour recevoir une vis à tête.
MEDC recommande d'utiliser des vis
en acier inoxydable.
Un gabarit peut être fourni pour
faciliter le perçage des trous.
2.2 Eléments de connexion des
câbles
Seuls des presse-étoupe certifiés du
modèle correct doivent être utilisés.
Tous les presse-étoupe doivent avoir
un indice IP équivalent à celui de
l'équipement.
Afin de garantir le maintien de la
classification IP, l'étanchéité entre
le presse-étoupe et l'équipement
doit être assurée par l'emploi d'une
rondelle ou un produit d'étanchéité.
Nous recommandons l'utilisation du
produit HYLOMAR PL32.
2.3 Câblage
L'ensemble du câblage doit être
conforme au schéma de câblage
pertinent.
MEDC recommande d'identifier
clairement tous les câbles et con-
ducteurs.

œuvre d'un équipement électrique

2.0 INSTALLATION
2.1 Montage
Der Bruchglas-Feuermelder ist mit Hilfe
der beiden Befestigungsboh-rungen im
Unterteil auf einer senkrechten Fläche
zu montieren. Die Befestigungs-
bohrungen sind nach Entfernung des
Deckels zugänglich. Sie sind für die
Aufnahme von Kopfschrauben
ausgelegt. MEDC empfiehlt die
VerwendungvonBefestigungselementen
aus Edelstahl.
Eine Montageschablone
Positionierung der Befestigungs-
bohrungen vor der Montage des Geräts
kann geliefert werden.
2.2 Anschlussstutzen
Stellen Sie sicher, dass nur Anschlusss-
tutzen mit der richtigen Zertifizierung
verwendet werden.
Alle Anschlussstutzen müssen über die
gleiche IP-Schutzklasse wie das Gerät
verfügen.
Um die IP-Schutzklasse des Geräts zu
erhalten, sind die Anschlussstutzen am
Gerät mit einer Dichtungsscheibe oder
Dichtmasse abzudichten. Wir empfeh-
len "HYLOMAR PL32 COMPOUND".
2.3 Verdrahtung
Die gesamte Verdrahtung muss mit
dem entsprechenden Schaltplan
übereinstimmen.
MEDC empfiehlt, alle Kabel und Adern
vollständig zu kennzeichnen.
Bei Installation und Betrieb explosion-
sgeschützter elektrischer Einrichtungen
sind die entsprechenden landesspezi-
fischen Regelungen betreffs Installation
und Betrieb (z.B. EN60079-14 und
BS7671:1992) zu beachten.
