How are Alarms detected?
Q-tag
®
plus supervises up to five temperature and time limits to detect high and/or low alarms. The «OK»
sign in the display will be replaced by the «ALARM» sign as soon as any of the limits have been violated.
Example WHO Type 1: the storage range is defined as -0.4°C to +29.9°C. No alarm will be displayed as
long as the ambient temperature remains inside these limits. The low alarm limit is set at -0.5°C with an acti-
vation time of 1 hour. Thus, an alarm will appear if the temperature falls down to -0.5°C or below for more
than 60 minutes and the display will show the following:
High alarms are displayed similarly if high temperature and time limits are violated.
The alarm limits are factory-defined in two categories, "single event" for the highest (>= 45°C) and lowest
(<= -0.5°C ) alarm limits and "cumulative" for the other limits (>= 30°C and >= 10°C). To trigger a «sin-
gle event» alarm, the corresponding temperature and time limit must be violated without interruption. As
soon as the temperature returns into the allowed range, the alarm counter resets automatically.
In contrast to this, «cumulative» alarms record and summarise all the times of each temperature violation
and an alarm will be triggered as soon as the sum of times exceeds the corresponding time limit.
How can Q-tag
The device is stopped at the end of the transport by pressing the STOP button for at least 3 secs. The blinking
«run» will be replaced by the steady «stop» sign and the measurements are halted.
Which information is recorded and visible at a glance? (Stop-Mode)
The circle segments give an indication of the elapsed transport time. One segment corresponds to the segment
time as printed on the label, e.g. 10 hr per segment and 8 visible segments say that the device was activated
for at least 80 hours. «OK» remains visible until any alarm is detected. It is then replaced by «ALARM» and
more information is visible at a glance:
