• Either run the connection cable from either side of the wall bracket or run it through an exist-
ing hole in the wall, where you intend to mount the wall bracket.
Protect the plug against dust and dirt, e.g. with a small plastic bag.
If the connection cable is too short (depending on the wall thickness or installation position),
use a suitable connection box mounted near the camera.
Depending on where the camera is mounted, this connection box must be suitable for out-
door installation.
Lay the cable in such a way that it is protected against tampering, e.g., in a cable duct or
similar.
• Fasten the wall bracket, with the camera mounted on it, firmly to the wall. Depending on the
wall, use screws and suitable wall plugs.
• To adjust the position of the camera, use the enclosed Allen key to slightly loosen the fixing
screws on the wall bracket. Adjust the camera position as desired and tighten the screws
again.
Connecting the cameras to the recorder
The cameras connect to the digital recorder via a standard network cable (all wires connected
1:1) with RJ45 connectors. This is not only used for the video connection, but also for the volt-
age/power supply.
Do not run the network cable between the camera and the digital recorder through a
network switch, router or similar.
The camera and the digital recorder must always be connected directly to each
other.
The network cable supplied is approximately 18 m long. However, it is possible to
use longer network cables (up to approx. 50 m). Use at least CAT5e-cables.
Start-up
Please consult the original manufacturer's operating instructions in English. The
operating instructions are available on the CD provided.
• Select a suitable installation site. This location should be a place where the digital recorder is
protected from unauthorised access.
• Protect the digital recorder from direct sunlight and heat. The cooling of the digital recorder
and the installed hard drive takes place via air convection. Never cover the digital recorder,
and do not place any other devices or objects on it.
• If the digital recorder is for instance installed in a cabinet, a suitable cooling system is re-
quired in order to avoid heat accumulation.
• Keep in mind that the digital recorder must not be exposed to vibrations or agitations, other-
wise the hard drive will be damaged. All previous recordings will be lost.
• VGA or HDMI video outputs are available to connect your surveillance monitor. The desired
monitor resolution can be adjusted in the setup menu at a later stage.
• Connect the USB mouse enclosed to one of the USB ports.
• Connect the digital recorder with the circular low-voltage plug of the power adapter provided.
Connect the power adapter to a standard mains socket, using the European power cord sup-
plied. The digital recorder will then carry out a self-test and is ready for use after that.
Do not move the product with an installed hard drive when the latter is in operation. Move-
ment during operation may cause the write/read heads in the hard drive to make contact with
the magnetic disk. This may not only lead to data loss but may also damage the hard drive!
The same applies to the 30-second period, the time needed for the magnetic disks in the hard
drive to come to a full stop after the adapter has been disconnected from the power supply.

menu to set the functions.

Formatting the hard disk

On initial start-up you must format the installed hard drive using the digital recorder's setting
menu. This will result in the loss of all data stored on the hard drive.
Without formatting the hard drive, you won't be able to record video footage from the connected
surveillance cameras.

Maintenance and cleaning

The product is maintenance-free.
Before cleaning the product, disconnect it from the power supply (unplug the mains plug).
Then, wait for at least 30 seconds until the magnetic disks in the hard drive have come to a
complete stop.
Use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents as these can
cause discolouration. To prevent scratch marks, do not press too strongly on the surface when
cleaning.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, long-haired brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Disposal
The product must not be disposed of with the household waste.
Please dispose of the product at the end of its service life according to the current
statutory requirements.
