Advice and hints for
successful waffles
The batter must be filled into the
wafflemaker quickly as otherwise the
top and the bottom will not be
browned evenly. If too little batter is
used the waffles will be patchy and
not evenly browned.
In order to have constantly brown
waffles the batter has to be filled into
the mold immediately after the pre-
vious one has been taken out.
Lay the finished waffles out on a gra-
ting, so they stay crisp. Piled waffles
quickly become soft. Before making
the batter make sure that all ingre-
dients are at room temperature.

Waffle Recipes

Basic waffles
6oz plain flour, 2 teaspoons baking

ons sugar, 2 eggs separated,
8 fl. oz milk, 3oz butter
Sift flour, baking powder and salt
into a bowl, then stir in sugar. Put
egg yolks, milk and butter into a
separate bowl and beat well, then
add to dry ingredients - beat now to
combine. Whisk egg whites in a bowl
to a stiff consistency and fold into
other ingredients. Put three table-
spoons of the mixture into the
pre-heated waffle maker - close and
cook until puffed and golden brown.
Serve hot with butter, maple syrup or
bacon.
Nut waffles
6oz plain flour, 2 teaspoons baking

8 fl. oz milk, 3oz melted butter, 3oz
finely chopped walnuts
Sift flour, baking powder and salt
into a bowl, then stir in sugar. Put
egg yolks, butter and milk into a
bowl and beat well, then add to dry
ingredients. Stir in three teaspoons
of the chopped walnuts. Whisk egg
whites, then add to ingredients. Put
three tablespoons of the mixture into
the pre-heated waffle maker - close
and cook until golden brown. Serve
with sliced banana or other soft fruit
and sprinkle over the remainder of
the chopped walnuts.

1. This product is supplied with 13 A
plug conforming to BS 1363 fitted
to the mains lead. If the plug is
unsuitable for your socket outlets
or needs to be replaced, please

non-rewireable one, cut it from the
mains lead and immediately
dispose of it. Never insert it into a

As the colours of the wires in the
mains lead of this appliance may
not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals
in your plug, proceed as follows:
- the wire which is coloured green
and yellow must be connected to
the terminal which is marked with
the letter E or by the earth
symbol
, or coloured green or
green and yellow,
- the wire which is coloured blue
must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with
the letter N or coloured black,
- the wire which is coloured brown
must be connected to the
terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
3. If a 13 A (BS 1363) plug is used it
must be fitted with a 13 A fuse
conforming to BS 1362 and be
ASTA approved. If any other type
of plug is used, the appliance
must be protected by a 10 A fuse
either in the plug or adapter or at
the distribution board. If in doubt -
consult a qualified electrician.
4. Never use the plug without closing
the fuse cover.
In order to avoid injury, any repairs
of the appliance as well as the
exchange of a damaged connection
cord should only be carried out by
the manufacturer, his authorised ser-
vice agent or a person having similar
qualifications.
The appliance complies with
the EEC regulations no. 73/23
EWG and no. 89/336 EWG.
