WLAN – configuring the connection
If you wish to use the sound system as part of a wireless network, the first step must be to create
the WLAN connection to your home network. The procedure for setting up the WLAN connection
is described in the following chapter. If you are about to use the sound system for the first time,
you should carry out the procedure as described in the chapter entitled "First steps" on page 29.

(Wi-Fi Protected Setup – WPS)
In the following section we assume that a functioning home network
(WLAN network) with router and (DSL) Internet connection already
exists.
If you are uncertain about the installation, set-up procedure and basic
configuration of your network, please refer to your network administrator
or a network specialist.
It is important that the field strength of the WLAN signal in the
vicinity of the Skyline Edge Sound should be adequate, since it is
not possible to guarantee smooth operation of the sound system if
the signal is weak. If the WLAN signal field strength is inadequate,
we recommend the use of a WLAN repeater close to the Skyline
Edge Sound. If a repeater is installed, please ensure that the sound
system and the tablet or smartphone are connected to the same
WLAN (repeater).
The sound system supports WPS for setting up WLAN connections.
WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) is a process for creating secure WLAN
connections. WPS enables the sound system to connect quickly and
easily to the router.
Most modern routers include a WPS function for this purpose.
 If the sound system is not already switched on, do this now.
 The first step is to activate the WPS function on the WLAN router or
repeater to which the connection is to be made. For details of this
please refer to the instructions supplied with the device.
 Within two minutes hold the
in (see page 28) until the Status LED flashes white. As soon as the
WLAN connection is made, the LED will revert to the solid colour
corresponding to the currently selected source. In most cases the
connection will be made within a few seconds.
The WLAN connection is stored until the WPS function is re-activated.
The sound system's WPS function can always be initiated independently
of the source you have selected. The WPS function is active as long as
the Status indicator flashes white.
If no network is present, the WLAN connection can also be set up at a
later date. In this case the sound system can only be controlled directly,
using the buttons on the extractor hood.
Audio playback without a WLAN connection is only possible via
Bluetooth.
