Main functions of Horizon
CHANGE CHANNEL
a) Fast zapping
Press the CH+ / CH- buttons during a
current programme to switch channel.
b) Channel list
Press the up-down arrow buttons during
a current programme for 2 seconds to
activate the channel list. Go to the required
channel and press OK to select it.
c) Picture-in-picture preview
Press BACK during a current programme
to activate the channel bar. Afterwards
you can scroll between channels by using
the up-down arrow buttons. Press OK to
acknowledge the new channel.

RECORD PROGRAMME
a) REC button
Press REC on the Horizon remote control
during a current programme. Select CONFIRM
RECORDING to start recording. Set a
customised time buffer before and after
the programme under ADD EXTRA TIME.
b) Action menu
Press OK during a current programme to
activate the action menu. Select RECORD and
then CONFIRM RECORDING to start recording.

c) TV Guide
Select the required programme in the TV
and press OK to open the action menu. Select
RECORD and then CONFIRM RECORDING to
set the recording. Set a customised time buffer
before and after the programme under
ADD EXTRA TIME.
ORDER ON DEMAND FILMS
Press MENU and select ON DEMAND.
Select the required category, locate the film
of your choice and press OK to open the
action menu. Select RENT and then enter
your PIN to order the film. The default PIN
is 0000. You can change the PIN at
TOOLBOX-SETTINGS.
FAVOURITE LIST
Your favourite list is featured at the top
of the channel list. Favourites are identified
by an asterisk to the left of the channel logo.
To create your favourite list, press MENU
and go to TOOLBOX. Select SETTINGS-
PREFERENCES-FAVOURITE CHANNELS.
Select your favourite channels at SET
FAVOURITES. Important: to save favourites,
press the left arrow and then CONFIRM LIST.
You can then order the selected channels
as you like via REORDER FAVOURITES.
MY MEDIA ON TV
Use Horizon to enjoy your photos, music
and videos on your TV screen. The following
requirements must be satisfied:
– The device on which your media are stored
must be connected to the same home
network as your Horizon box (via WLAN or
cable)
– The device on which your media are stored
must support DLNA. We recommend
you to install the «Twonky» programme
(available for PC, MAC, smartphones and
tablet PCs). You can download Twonky free
of charge at upc-cablecom.ch/twonky.
To set up your home media on the Horizon
HD Recorder, please select: TOOLBOX -
SETTINGS - HOME NETWORK SETTINGS,
and run through the wizard (SET UP YOUR
HOME NETWORK). For further information
on setting up your network, please refer to
the Horizon user guide on the enclosed DVD.
After successful configuration, you can
access your music, photos and videos via
MY LIBRARY.
