The spacecraftjs morethan 121 feet longand has a wingspan in
excess ot 78 feet. Most ot the orbiter structure iS aluminum alloy cov-
eredwith a variety of thermal protection surfaces designedto main-
tain pre-determined airframeSkin temperatures. O t particularinterest
