USING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Remove all the packaging before using it for the first time and wipe with a slightly
damp cloth.
Important! Use the waffle iron for the first time without any mix inside.
• Put the waffle iron in a location where you can fully open the lid.
• Brush the heating plates with butter or margarine (use a brush, cloth or kitchen
towel). You only need to do this once to seal the heating plates.
• Close the lid. (The lid must always be closed before switching the waffle iron on).
• Put the plug into the socket. The green and the blue indicator lights comes on.
• It takes approximately 4–5 minutes to heat up the waffle iron. The green indicator light
turns off when the waffle iron has heated up.
• When you use it for the first time, smoke may come out of the waffle iron and it may
smell. This is completely normal.
• Take the plug out of the socket after the waffle iron has heated up and let it cool down.
Clean the inside as described in the section on "Cleaning and maintenance".
• The waffle iron is now ready to use.
USE
• Put the plug into the socket. The red indicator light comes on when the waffle iron is
switched on.
• It takes approximately 4–5 minutes to heat up. When the waffle iron is heating up, the
green light appears, which turns off when the waffle iron has heated up.
The waffle iron must be empty when heating it up.
• Open the lid and pour in the waffle mix.
• The heating plates have a non-stick layer, which means that you do not have to brush
any fat on them for normal use. If you want to use fat, use butter or margarine – not oil!
• Close the lid. It takes about 3–6 minutes to make a waffle (depending on what is in the
mix and the amount of mix you are using).
• Remove the waffle with a spatula made of wood or heat-resistant plastic. Do not use
any sharp utensils - they may damage the surface!
• If you want to make more waffles, close the lid between each one to keep the heat.
• Switch off the waffle iron by pulling the plug out of the socket after use.
