• Let go of the throttle again and let it move to neutral position.
After approx. one second, the programming mode for special functions is activated. If you are
done programming, switch off the speed controller ("OFF" position). Otherwise the motor/speed
controller will indicate the special functions one after another with a corresponding tone signal.
When the desired function is indicated by the tone signal, move the throttle to full-throttle forward
position (quickly pull the throttle towards the handle) to change the settings.
The motor/speed controller plays a confirmation sound ("
respective function has been programmed.
The following functions are available:
1. Maximum brake force: Here you can determine the brake force to be applied when braking. In
general, "100%" should be selected.
~
60% brake force
~
100% brake force
2. Motor braking: This function simulates the braking characteristics of a "normal" electric motor
when the throttle is released (neutral position on remote control).
~
Switched off, 0% brake force
~
Switched on, 10% brake force
3. Selecting the rechargeable battery type: Select between NiMH and LiPo rechargeable batteries.
~
NiMH
~
LiPo
4. Switching reverse drive on/off: If needed, reverse drive can be activated.
~
Reverse drive off
~
Reverse drive on
Once the speed controller has been through all the functions, it begins at the first function
again. You can continue programming.
To exit programming mode, simply switch off the speed controller ("OFF" position).

Connection to the Receiver
• Connect the three-pole plug of the speed controller to the corresponding channel of the receiver.
Make sure the assignment on the receiver is correct (see operating instructions of the receiver as
well as the information on the receiver).
Yellow/white/orange cable: Control signal
Red cable:
Operating voltage
Brown/black cable:
GND/Earth
• As the speed controller is equipped with a BEC, no receiver battery or rechargeable battery must
be used! The receiver is powered by the vehicle battery directly through the speed controller.

Operating the vehicle

Caution!
Place the model vehicle so that the drive wheels do not touch the ground or any objects.
Do not touch the drive mechanism and do not block it! Risk of injury!
• Switch on your transmitter. (Check battery state!) Put the trim controls in centre position. Put the
throttle in neutral position and let go of it.
• The switch of the speed controller must be put in the "OFF" position.
• Insert the battery pack into the vehicle and connect it to the speed controller.
Only connect a fully charged battery packs to the speed controller. The speed controller
features undervoltage detection with an automatic switch-off function. The voltage is
measured immediately after the speed controller has been switched on. When the
battery packs are only partially charged, the number of cells might not be recognised
properly. This results in a total discharge of the battery packs!
LiPo battery pack:
Voltage between 6.0 and 8.4 V
down at a battery voltage < 5.8 V
Voltage between 9.0 and 12.6 V
down at a battery voltage < 8.7 V
NiMH battery pack:
If the speed controller is programmed to NiMH, the speed controller shuts down when
the voltage falls below 4.5 V (regardless of the number of cells).
• Now switch on the speed controller by putting the on/off switch in the ON position. The motor/
speed controller plays a sound ("
should light up green permanently.
If the LED flashes green, the throttle or the drive trim control on the remote control
(transmitter) are not in neutral position. In this case, the drive is deactivated for safety
reasons. Re-programme neutral position for the speed controller and the end positions
for full-throttle forward and reverse.
• The speed controller (and consequently the vehicle) is now ready for operation.

Operating information

Please note:
When changing between forward and reverse drive, the throttle must be put in neutral
position for a short time.
If the throttle is moved directly from forward to reverse, the brake of the speed controller
is activated (vehicle does NOT reverse!)
If the driving direction or the brake function respond opposite to the movement of the
throttle on the transmitter, activate the reverse function on the transmitter or swap any
two of the three motor cables.
If the transmitter signal is lost, the speed controller turns off the motor for safety reasons
(the steering servo will vibrate, however, if no failsafe is installed).
The same applies when the speed controller overheats. In this case, check the
transmission of the drive and the fan on the speed controller.
• If the speed controller/motor does not work or if moving the throttle does not cause the motor to
run, switch off the speed controller.
Check neutral position on the transmitter. Put the drive trim control in centre position and let go
of the throttle (or put it in centre position as well). Check if the transmitter is switched on, if the
correct crystals are used and if the batteries/rechargeable batteries in the transmitter and the
vehicle are full.
Programme neutral position as well as full-throttle forward and reverse again!

End of operation
• First switch off the speed controller (put switch in the "OFF" position).
• Disconnect the rechargeable battery from the speed controller.
• Now switch off the transmitter.
