5.1 The ignition technology

Ignition aids can either be paper or preferably specific ignition aids in accordance with EN 1860-3, e.g.

The arrangement of the fuel in the fire barrel is typically crosswise. We also recommend the traditional

campfire arrangement for the bottom-up lighting technique.

The ignition aid is placed and ignited at the bottom of the fuel charge. The lower layers of fuel are

small pieces of kindling. Larger pieces of firewood are located above the kindling material.

6 Storage and cleaning

Remove all cooled ash residue from the product after each use.

Use heat protection gloves and carefully pull the ash tray out of the Pyron
by the hook. Use the Petromax lid lifter (ftdh) to pull out the ash pan on the

hook. The charcoal grate and ash tray can be easily removed and brushed
off with a hand brush. Then put the ash tray back into the Pyron.

Do not leave the base and the grill plate including all accessories unprotected

outdoors. Only store the grill plate/grill grate once it has completely cooled
down and been cleaned. For permanent storage during the winter months,

we recommend a dry and well-ventilated place. For storage in the summer
months, we recommend using the PETROMAX covers that match the product.

7 Disposal instructions

Dispose of the materials separately according to your local disposal regulations. Never dispose of hot
ashes in household waste!
