Intended use
This product is a decorative outdoor light and is not designed to be used as an indoor light. For
example, you can use the product as a garden light. The light source consists of two LEDs. The
light switches on automatically in the dark. The product is powered by two NiMH rechargeable
batteries, which are charged via a built-in solar panel. The product has an IP44 protection rating
(rain and splashproof) and can be mounted and operated both indoors and outdoors. The IP
protection rating is only guaranteed when the product is installed properly. The lamp must be
mounted in a position that protects it from excessive moisture, dirt and excessive heat.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can cause hazards such as short circuiting, fire, electric shock etc. Read
the instructions carefully and keep them. Make this product available to third parties only together
with its operating instructions.

Meaning of symbols

The device was constructed according to protection class III. Protection class III
includes electrical devices with a low voltage power supply (< 50 Volts) using a
safety transformer or batteries/rechargeable batteries/solar energy etc. Devices in
protection class III have no connection for protective insulation - they must not be
connected to the protective earth.
This symbol reminds you to read the operating instructions included with the
product.

Safety instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety
information. If you do not follow the safety instructions and information on proper
handling in this manual, we assume no liability for any resulting personal injury or
damage to property. Such cases will invalidate the warranty/guarantee.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases,
vapours and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if
the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Attention, LED light:
- Do not look directly into the LED light!
- Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
• Never cover the product. The surface gets hot; covering the product not only
constitutes a fire hazard but may also cause it to overheat, which can damage the
product.
• This product must only be used as a decorative outdoor light. It is not suitable for
household lighting.
• Keep the product away from flammable materials and objects.
• Do not cover the solar panel. Do not hang or secure any objects (e.g. decorations)
to the product.
• The product is designed according to protection class III; an earth wire must not
be connected.
• Ensure that you mount the lamp in the correct position.
• The product must only be mounted in a fixed location.
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the rechargeable batteries.
• Rechargeable batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long
period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged rechargeable
batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable
protective gloves to handle corrupted rechargeable batteries.
• Rechargeable batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave
rechargeable batteries lying around, as there is a risk, that children or pets may
swallow them.
• Rechargeable batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.
Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• All rechargeable batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new
rechargeable batteries in the device can lead to rechargeable battery leakage and
device damage.
• Never damage the rechargeable battery. Damaging the casing of the rechargeable
battery might cause an explosion or a fire!
• In industrial facilities, the accident prevention regulations for electrical equipment
and facilities issued by the Industrial Employers' Liability Association must be
adhered to!
• Consult an expert when in doubt about operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs are to be performed exclusively by an
expert or at a qualified shop.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.

Mounting location

Pay attention to the "Safety instructions" section.
• The product must be placed in a location where the lamp head is exposed to direct sunlight for
as long as possible to ensure that the batteries charge properly. The solar panel is located in the
base of the lamp head. Ensure that the lamp head is not covered or shaded.
• Do not place the product next to other light sources, e.g. patio or street lights, as this may
prevent the product from turning on automatically in the dark.
• The product is designed for unsheltered outdoor use. However, it should never be used in or
under water.
• Place the product in a place with good access to light so that the solar panel can charge the
batteries throughout the day. Ensure that the solar panel is not covered or shaded, e.g. by trees
or buildings.
• Ensure that the solar panel does not become blocked by snow or other deposits.
• The internal batteries are charged via solar power. A full charge takes up to 8 hours when the
light is placed in an area with good exposure to the sun.
