Building a string
A string may contain
separators and termination signs. Commands contain 3
symbols and have the ability to question instrument
messages if they are followed by the ?-symbol. Space-
bar, semi-colon, or commas may be used as separators.
Data for Frequency, Modulation Depth, or Level can be
specified by either fixed point numbers
notation. Units do not need to be specified; they are
supplied automatically in the information transmitted by
the HM8133.
For example: FRQ;12.345E+3
FRQ:12345
FRQ:1.2345E+4
All of which result in a frequency of 12,345 Hz.
The STA command provides information on the status of
the following functions:

modulation type (AMO/AMI/...).

Syntax errors as well
instrument's specifications are signalled by a "beep" as
well as by appearing on the display.

Instrument drivers for
LabWindows and LabView (National Instruments) are
available on request at Hameg or your dealer.
Alignment
The complete alignment of the HM 8133 requires a
automated test set-up. For this reason it is recommended
to return the instrument to the factory for alignment.
