7. OPERATION

Prior to switching on, the MASTER level control should be set to minimum to prevent loud switching noise.
Then switch on the amplifier with the POWER switch.

For optimal level control of the sound, first set the MASTER level control to average volume. Switch off the
compressor and equalizer with the respective switch. Set the SHAPE control to mid-position.

Turn the GAIN control to the right until the amplifier is close to overload.

Adjust the volume with the MASTER level control.

Adjust the basic character of the sound with the SHAPE control. The further the control is turned counter-
clockwise, the more low midrange frequencies will be filtered out.
7.1 Equalizer
The 7-band equalizer allows for an even mor precise adjustment of the sound. Activate the equalizer via the
ON/OFF switch. Via the sliding controls, the levels of the frequency ranges stated can be increased or
decreased by up to 15 dB. Via the ON/OFF switch, the equalizer can be deactivated.
7.2 Compressor
The task of compressors is to reduce the dynamic range of a music signal, i.e. a level increase material and
to control i. e. a level increase at the input will result in a lower level increase at the output. The degree of
compression is adjusted with the RATIO control. In this case, e. g. a ratio of 6:1 means that with a level
increase by 6 dB at the input, the output level will only be increased by 1 dB. With a bass, the compression
allows e. g. to reduce differences in volume between the strings or between different
playing techniques. As the levels of the signal peaks are reduced, the input of the amplifier can be
controlled to a higher level with the GAIN control. Thus, the compressed sound will give the impression
of being richer and of a higher volume. The release time of the sound will be extended. To activate or
deactivate the compressor, press the switch ON/OFF.
8. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
We recommend a frequent cleaning of the device. Please use a soft lint-free and moistened cloth. Never use
alcohol or solvents!
There are no serviceable parts inside the device except for the fuse. Maintenance and service operations are
only to be carried out by authorized dealers.
8.1 Replacing the fuse
If the fine-wire fuse of the device fuses, only replace the fuse by a fuse of same type and rating.
Before replacing the fuse, unplug mains lead.
Procedure:
Step 1: Open the fuseholder on the rear panel with a fitting screwdriver.
Step 2: Remove the old fuse from the fuseholder.
Step 3: Install the new fuse in the fuseholder.
Step 4: Replace the fuseholder in the housing.
Should you need any spare parts, please use genuine parts.
