EN – General safety information
All buttons and driver card slots of the DTCO are accessible with a mounted VDO Link. To
access the printer paper tray, remove the VDO Link by rotating it up or down. Do not pull
the VDO Link towards you.
The VDO Link is equipped with an internal battery.
• Do not leave the VDO Link unplugged for more than 90 days.
This could damage the battery.
• When VDO Link was not used for a longer period the battery needs to be charged
before the device is ready for use. It may take a few hours before VDO Link connects to
VDO Fleet.

DANGER – Risk of injury due to exploding battery
• Do not operate the VDO Link in ADR conditions.
• Do not operate the VDO Link outside the defined temperature range.
• Do not keep the VDO Link in an environment with extremely low air pressure.
• Do not replace the battery.
• Do not dispose of battery into fire or a hot oven, or keep in an environment with high
temperatures.
• Do not mechanically crush or cut the battery.
If there are no errors during the start-up, the right LED reacts as follows (see figures 5 to 8):
Solid red for at least 40 sec. Off for 2 sec. Green for 4 sec. After that, the LED remains per-
manently off. The VDO Link is ready to use.
In case of an error, the right LED will not light up green during the start-up.
• Wait until the right LED remains permanently off and reconnect the VDO Link.
• In case of continued failure, contact your service provider.
Hereby, Continental declares that the radio equipment type VDO Link is in compliance with
Directive 2014/53/EU.

DE – Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise
Alle Tasten und Fahrerkartenschächte des DTCO sind mit montiertem VDO Link zugänglich.
Um auf die Druckerschublade zuzugreifen, entfernen Sie den VDO Link, indem Sie ihn nach
oben oder unten drehen. Ziehen Sie den VDO Link keinesfalls zu sich heran.
Der VDO Link ist mit einem internen Akku ausgestattet.
• Lassen Sie den VDO Link nicht länger als 90 Tage ausgesteckt.
Dies könnte den Akku beschädigen.
• Wenn der VDO Link längere Zeit nicht verwendet wurde, muss der Akku aufgeladen
werden, bevor das Gerät einsatzbereit ist. Es kann einige Stunden dauern, bis VDO Link
eine Verbindung zu VDO Fleet herstellt.

GEFAHR – Verletzungsgefahr durch explodierenden Akku
• VDO Link nicht unter ADR-Bedingungen betreiben.
• Betreiben Sie den VDO Link nicht außerhalb des definierten Temperaturbereichs.
• Bewahren Sie den VDO Link nicht in einer Umgebung mit extrem niedrigem Luftdruck
auf.
• Ersetzen Sie den Akku nicht.
• Werfen Sie den Akku nicht in Feuer oder in einen heißen Ofen und bewahren Sie ihn
nicht in einer Umgebung mit hohen Temperaturen auf.
• Quetschen oder zerschneiden Sie den Akku nicht.
Wenn während des Startvorgangs keine Fehler auftreten, reagiert die rechte LED wie folgt
(siehe Abbildungen 5 bis 8): Dauerhaft rot für mindestens 40 Sek. Aus für 2 Sek. Grün für 4
Sek. Danach bleibt die LED dauerhaft aus. Der VDO Link ist einsatzbereit.
Im Fehlerfall leuchtet die rechte LED während des Startvorgangs nicht grün.
• Warten Sie, bis die rechte LED dauerhaft aus bleibt und schließen Sie den VDO Link
erneut an.
• Wenden Sie sich bei anhaltendem Störungen an Ihren Dienstanbieter.
Hiermit erklärt Continental, dass der Funkanlagentyp VDO Link der Richtlinie 2014/53/EU
entspricht.
