• Caution: The electric kettle becomes hot during use
and can cause burns and scalds. Always hold the kettle

spilling boiling water. Never touch the power base, the
kettle or the cord with wet hands.
• The power base, the kettle and the cord must never
be allowed to come into contact with hot surfaces, for
example cooker hobs.
• Do not fill the electric kettle with water when it is
sitting on the power base.
• Never switch on the electric kettle when it is empty.
If the electric kettle is accidentally switched on when
empty, the thermal cut-off automatically disconnects
the power. If this happens, allow the kettle to cool for
10 minutes before filling with water.
• Caution: Avoid overfilling the kettle as otherwise
the water may boil over. Do not fill above the max.

• Check the power base, the kettle and the power cord
regularly for any damage/defects.
• If the electric kettle appears to be defective in any
way, return it to the shop where it was purchased

• If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer, distributor or similar authorised
persons to avoid injury.
• If the electric kettle is not working properly, try
descaling it (see section on descaling).
• The operating instructions for cordless electric kettles
must indicate that the kettle can only be used with
the accompanying power base.
• This electric kettle is intended for ordinary domestic
use and similar applications such as:
– staff kitchens in shops, offices and other working
environments
– private homes
– by guests at hotels, motels etc.
– guest houses etc.
• This electric kettle can be used by persons who are
physically or mentally disabled, provided that they
have been instructed in how to use the kettle safely
and understand the hazards involved.
• Never let children play with the kettle.
