Before the first use
· Read through the operating instructions and safety advice carefully first.
· Remove all packaging material.
· Wipe the outside with a soft cloth, slightly moistened if needed. Thoroughly dry the toaster off afterwards.
· Caution: Do not use any caustic liquids or abrasive cleaning agents.
· Unwind the cable completely and insert the plug into a suitable socket.
· Check that the crumb tray is in place.
· Turn the browning control to the highest setting. Now switch the toaster on being empty, by pressing down
the toast lift. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
· A slight smell may occur; this is harmless and will disappear after a short while.
· Allow the toaster to cool down before starting to make the first toast.
Use
· Place the toaster on a suitable surface (not on a metal surface; not on fabrics etc.).
· Toast a maximum of 2 slices of toast at the same time. Use only commercially available toast for the toast
slot. Place thicker or longer slices of bread, bagels, bun rolls, etc. only on the warming rack.
· Adjust the browning control to the desired setting (setting 1 is the lowest setting for light browning, setting
6 resp. 7 is the highest setting for the darkest browning). To begin with we recommend that you use a low
to middle setting.
· Now press the toast lift down until it engages to switch the toaster on.
· When the toasting process is finished, the lift comes back up and you can remove the toasted slices.
· Caution: The toaster and the toast are very hot immediately after use. Risk of burns!
· In order to achieve even browning for more than one toasting process, wait for approx. 30 seconds after
each toasting process. Otherwise, darker results can be achieved with the same browning setting.
· If the toast gets too dark, you can stop the toasting process with the cancel button. Attention: Never push
the toast lift up, but always use the cancel button.
· In case you want to toast 1 slice only, or the bread slices are very small, turn the toaster to a lower setting.
· Always unplug the appliance after use and allow the appliance to cool down.
