5. BUTTON FUNCTIONS
on/off...set:
»
Short press (<2 sec.): Power on/off
»
Long press (>2 sec.): Set the initial reading in absolute measuring mode.
ABS...mm/in:
»
Short press (<2 sec.): Switch between absolute and relative measuring modes. The normal mode is absolute
measuring mode, "ABS" is displayed. Press to switch to relative mode, "INC" appears and the reading resets
to zero. In relative mode, the reading is the distance to the "relative zero point". Press again to return to
absolute mode.
»
Long press (>2 sec.): Switch between metric and inch units.
6. MEASUREMENT PREPARATION
1. Clean the measuring faces of the micrometer and the workpiece with a soft cloth.
2. Check the zero position of the micrometer:
»
For 0-25 mm / 0-1": Rotate the friction thimble until the measuring faces nearly contact, then use the ratchet
stop for full contact. Long press "on/off...set" to set zero.
»
For other ranges: Ensure the setting standard ends fully contact the measuring faces, then long press
"on/off...set" to set zero.
If the zero mark on the friction thimble does not align with the sleeve's longitudinal mark, tighten the locking
screw and adjust with the spanner (see fig. 4).
The micrometer should be checked regularly to ensure its initial reading is set correctly.
7. MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
1. Contact the fixed contact point with the workpiece.
2. Rotate the friction thimble or ratchet stop. When close to the workpiece, use only the ratchet stop to avoid
damaging internal threads.
3. Read the measurement after hearing the click from the ratchet stop.
Caution: Avoid excessive force on the ratchet stop to prevent inaccuracies and damage.
8. ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
»
Spherical (convex) fixed contact point: Attach to measure tube thickness (see fig. 5).
»
Automatic Power Off: The micrometer turns off after about 20 minutes of inactivity. Press any button or turn the
friction thimble to reactivate.
»
Battery Life: Approximately six months. Replace the battery if the display shows a battery symbol or blurs. If
digits do not change when buttons are pressed or the thimble is rotated, take out the battery and put it back 1
minute. Remove the battery if the micrometer is unused for an extended period to prevent leakage.
9. OPERATING CONDITIONS
