3. Operation
Inserting Battery
To open the device, slide back the battery
cover. A 9 V block battery is provided in the
battery compartment on delivery. Take it
out and unpack it. Connect the contact clip
at the end of the cable to the battery, ma-
king sure that the battery polarity is cor-
rect. Once the battery has been connected,
put it back into the battery compartment.
The contact clip should point backwards,
with the projecting cables stored under-
neath the device. When closing the battery
cover, make sure that no cables are caught
as they might thereby become damaged.
Changing the battery
If the indicator lamp does not light up any
more when the control button is pressed,
you have to replace the battery. Use a
standard 9 V block battery for this. The
battery provided will last for approx. 100
applications. Never use rechargeable bat-
teries. Used batteries do not belong in do-
mestic garbage. You are legally obliged to
dispose of the batteries. Dispose of them
through your specialist electrical supplier
or at your local recycling point. Note: Bat-
teries containing pollutants are marked
with the following symbols: Pb = Battery
contains lead, Cd = Battery contains cad-
mium, Hg = Battery contains mercury
4. How to use
Ensure that the insect sting is no longer in
your skin. Place the heating plates of the
bite pen on the area to be treated. Press
the button and keep it pressed for the
duration of the treatment time. The light
will indicate that the heating plates are
heating up. It takes about 25 seconds for
the device to reach the required tempera-
ture of slightly over 50°C. Hold the device
on the area affected for as long as you can
comfortably bear.
Important: Children max. 25 seconds (no
self-use of child)! Adults max. 30 seconds!
Attention! The heating mecha-
nism does not switch-off itself
automatically! If the insect bite is
still itching after application, let
the appliance cool down comple-
tely and repeat the application!
5. I nformation about the device
• This unit is intended for use on human
beings.
• The device should be stored in such way
as to prevent any inadvertent release of
the button. Occasionally burns can oc-
cur as well as a severe build-up of heat.
