Conditions of safe use
The RMM3-EX-E and RMM3-24VDC-EX-E are built by
nVent according to the conditions of safe use of all individual
components.
a) The equipment shall only be used in an area of at least
pollution degree 2, as defined in IEC/EN 60664-1.
b) Provisions shall be made to prevent the rated voltage from
being exceeded by transient disturbances of more than 140%.
Description
The nVent RAYCHEM Remote Monitoring Module (RMM3) is part
of the nVent RAYCHEM NGC control and monitoring system.
The RMM3 accepts inputs from up to 8 RTDs (3 wire Pt 100
temperature sensors) measuring pipe or ambient temperature
in a trace heating system. The RMM3 installed in a fiberglass
enclosure is available in two versions:
1. The RMM3-EX-E is the 115 VAC / 230 VAC RMM3 module
installed in a Fiberglass enclosure.
2. The RMM3-24VDC-EX-E is the 24 Vdc version of the RMM3
module installed in a Fiberglass enclosure.

Pre-installed in RMM3 / RMM3-24VDC Trace-heating Remote
Monitoring Module are the following:
– WAGO 280-907/999-950 IECEx / ATEX Zone 1 / Zone 2
Certified cage clamp terminals, suitable for solid and
stranded wires from 0.08 to 2.5 mm², strip length 8-9 mm.
– Terminals of the RMM3 / RMM3-24VDC Module are
suitable for:
LJ Solid wires with cross-section between 0.2 and 4.0 mm²
LJ Stranded wires with cross section between 0.2 and 2.5 mm²
LJ Torque of 0.5 Nm to 0.6 Nm
LJ Strip length 8 mm
An enclosure with tool removable door or cover that provides a
degree of protection not less than IP 54 in accordance with EN
IEC 60079-7
12 Ex e M20 glands for power cable (6 to 12 mm cable
diameter) with mushroom stopping plugs
