2. Features
1. General
The RSU-871 is a communication adapter to remotely control the setup functions of the ICD-870 or
ICD-703 camera by an RS-232C interface. The user must program the RSU-871 according to the
Protocol Specifications which comes with the Operation Manual.
If any electronic device is connected between the RSU-871 and a camera, it is impossible to re-
motely control the camera.
(1) RS-232C interface compatible
Compatible with the RS-232C which is the most popular communication interface, the adapter is
suitable for any systems.
(2) Single coaxial cable
It is not necessary to use an extra cable between the RSU-871 and a camera. Just a single
coaxial cable permits simple setting.
(3) Max. cable length 500m
Because the RSU-871 is equipped with a compensation amplifier, the maximum cable length
between the RSU-871 and a camera is 500m by a single 5C-2V coaxial cable.
(4) Compact
Small and light-weight, the adapter can also be installed in a camera housing or terminal box.
