1 - SAFETY WARNINGS
ATTENTION! Before starting the installation, carry out the following analyzes and
checks: verify that the individual devices intended for automation are suitable for
the system to be created. In this regard, check the data reported in paragraph 2
"Technical characteristics" with particular attention. Do not carry out the installa-
tion if even one of these devices is not suitable for use. Do not carry out modifica-
tions to any part of the equipment other than those foreseen in this Manual; operations
of this type can only cause malfunctions. The manufacturer declines all responsibility
for damage resulting from arbitrarily modified products. Prevent parts of the equipment
components from being immersed in water or other liquid substances; during installation,
prevent liquids from penetrating inside the devices present. If liquid substances pene-
trate inside the parts of the automation components, immediately disconnect the power
supply and contact the Key Automation Assistance Service. Using the automation in
such conditions can cause dangerous situations. Do not place the various components
of the automation near heat sources or expose them to open flames; such actions may
damage them and cause malfunctions, fire or dangerous situations.
ATTENTION! The equipment must be disconnected from the power source during
cleaning, maintenance and replacement of components.
Provide a disconnection device in the equipment's power supply network with a con-
tact opening distance that allows complete disconnection in the conditions dictated by
overvoltage category III; for the connection of rigid and flexible pipes or cable glands,
use fittings compliant with the IP55 protection degree or higher; the electrical system
upstream of the automation must comply with current regulations and be carried out in
a workmanlike manner.
KEY AUTOMATION S.r.l. reserves the right to modify these instructions if necessa-
ry, these and/or a higher version can be found on the website www.keyautomation.

2 - INTRODUCING THE PRODUCT
VIP2, with the QUADRO ambient light sensor and the Key Automation garage door auto-
mations, allows the automatic control of additional LED lights outside or inside the door.
The Night Light System turns on or off, based on the level of ambient light, the lights
after 15 minutes of exceeding the set threshold. This behavior avoids false switching
on or off due to external light sources such as car headlights. VIP2, combined with the
QUADRO light sensor, can also be used with the Key Automation BOXLEDXS2 power
supply and the LED lights will switch on based on the ambient light level. The lights can
also be activated manually, regardless of the ambient light level, by connecting a switch
to the LED_V input. The VIP2 equipment, when powered by the control unit in the garage
motor, via the QUADRO ambient light sensor, automatically activates up to 30W of Key
Automation LED lights during the night. If connected to a Key Automation control unit,
the lights can be activated during the manoeuvre, regardless of the ambient light level
or by remote control. The behavior of the LED lights can be managed by acting on the
parameters of the control unit itself. NOTE: to check the available operating modes, refer
to the manual to which VIP2 is connected.

3 - PRELIMINARY CHECKS
WARNING - before installing the product, perform the following checks and inspections:
• Position the QUADRO night-time sensor in a sunny area
• Position VIP2 in a sheltered are in the building
• Use electrical connections suitable for the currents required
• Check that the power supply conforms to the values in the technical specifications
4 - CUSTOMIZATION INSTALLATION
POWER VOLTAGE SETTING
The procedure sets the type of power supply to which VIP2 is connected: 24VDC stabi-
lized power supply or Key Automation motor control unit (HALO, CT10324, CT20324).
