These pressure gauges follow the EN 837-3
The user must ensure that the appropriate pressure gauge with regard to the medium effect on the used
material/measuring system, scale range and version is selected.
The optimum selection of the scale range of the pressure gauge is given, if the operating pressure is in the
midscale of the scale range.
Zero point marking
The tapping points should be prepared according to the indications for tapped holes. Further information you
will find on the VDE/VDI directive 3511, 3512 page 3 and EN 837-1/2.
Sealing must correspond to DIN 16258. The correct torque depends on material and shape of the sealing
washer. It should not exceed 80 Nm.
Flange connections correspond to the standards EN 1092-1 and ASME 16.5. .
Torque should never be applied to the gauge case. Instead, an adjustable wrench should always be used on
the wrench flats of the gauge socket to tighten or remove the pressure gauge.
Pressure gauge without glycerin/oil filling should be installed such as to avoid exposure to vibration and allow
easy observation of the dial indication.
Glycerin or oil filled pressure gauges are equipped with a venting plug to be used according to the indicating
lable on the pressure gauge housing.
We recommend the installation of isolating devices between pressure tapping point and pressure gauge
facilitating replacement of the pressure gauge or a zero point control while the system is pressurised. Correct
zeroing may be checked by closing the isolating device and relieving the gauge from pressure. The pointer
must fall within the thickened portion of the zero mark. The influence of temperature on the indication
accuracy must be considered.
